Not convinced by the looks :( I have a feeling it's going to be a 2+2, which would explain why the roofline looks too high. I hope they're not putting the VXT wheels on it either! :beat:

I know what you mean on the back end Ian - it looks a bit like the love child of Crossfire meets TT (that's Audi rather than Mr Tomato...) :D

hmm dunno, not much room up front for an Engine and the side has vents. Could just be a trick either way I guess to put us off the sent.

VX wheels, VX mirrors, perhaps a VX screen.. I wonder what the Lotus lot are making of that!?! It does look mid engined, could be their attempt (in collaboration with Vauxhall and Proton) at a small to mid sized GT, a comfy Exige kind of thing... It just looks like they have taken the styling queues from too many other cars. Poor show Lotus. thumbsdown

Since the screen and mirrors are also on an Elise I think Lotus can use them. And the door locks are Astra boot locks (and again I think the same as an Elise). An early 111R prototype was out on VXT alloys. I doubt they'd make it to production as they are too ugly.

I don't think people can complain about a parts bin car but I have to say that it is a bit of a minger. Need to look better than that to compete with the forthcoming Boxster S coupe.

I quite like the front of it, i think the VX looks good with air intakes on the front where the spot lights are, like this one: not sure how to post a pic, hope this works

Strange shape badge for a Lotus, I always thought they were round? It actually does look like a Proton badge, I'm sure I read somewhere that they wanted to bring out a small cheap sports car? May be wrong

That's just what I was thinking. It looks more like a styling exercise for a car that is based on the Elise (the widscreen and proportions are bit of a giveaway) and intended to be badged as a Proton. It looks like the sort of thing intended to appeal to a market where the Daewoo Matiz is still considered cutting edge.

It's got VX mirrors (and stems) and side repeaters as well. I've always wondered what a VX Exige would look like. Glad I never got past wondering.

I've just put a deposit down for the new Lotus GT. They are taking deposits of £1,000 for the first 500. Anyone who puts a deposit down before Oct 29th this year, gets the car for £36,500. Bargain! Will have news on delivery times by end Oct. Black metalic paint & buscuit leather inside ;) :) Receiving my spec visuals in the post next week.
