it won't be the wider rim that rubs, but the choice of a wider tyre.
I can get 17x7.0 17x8.0 , £559 delivered , (RRP £851)
Maybe possible to get 4 17x9.0 , I'll find out

ET26 was standard wheels, which barely cleared the BBK, hence they opted for ET20 front, but kept ET35 rear. Some of us went for ET30 rear to match the front wheelbase and larger clearance to the chassis leg
