Retrim...

I've Just ordered my Alcantara ready for the retrim!!
>Boyriven<
They are the official importers for the Italian Alcantara..
>Alcantara<
I sourced the Alcantara for my Novas retrim from them..
Im getting a trimmer / mate of mine to do it whos local to me... and did the Novas interior and headlining (Pete Lenton in cheadle hulme, stockport if anyones interested)
Im having the outer door card done and the big bolster part done (bit by your shoulder which is held in by one screw) in alcantara.. the o.e. silver bit is making way for the carbon fibre cards i got a while ago... to match handle guards and facia plates..
The seat centers will also be done in matching alcantara, and all the leather is being replaced with a good quality german leather hide which has a lovely grain to it.. I was going to go for smooth leather like i had in the nova, but this doesnt have the quality like the one with the grain.. so should be harder wearing.. Incidently the cloth part (sides of seats) on the o.e seats is now going to be leather.. I take everything in a week on tuesday!
Im undecided over the handbrake / gearlever surround... dunno whether to go for C/F or get it done in leather or alcantara.. my initial thought is C/F as i reckon after a period of time the seat belt fixing could damage the material..mmm..
Cant wait.. i'll post pics as and when!

Nick any ideas on prices to cover a couple of SLK seats in decent black leather?
VX will look even better BTW when thats done - you are such a perfectionist
You have a PM!!
Thanks for the comment your right i am a perfectionist... bit sad really... but hey ho, it has to be right!! LOL!!
At least on my road trip this year i won't have a sweaty back and arse, burnt legs and be slideing around in my seat!! LOL!!
Im also having that bit of foam removed from the Pax seat.. some dont mind it, others do!!
Cheers

Still in the process of plotting the route with the Mrs..
Should be good...
Last couple of years... took in Lausanne, Ouchy (Switzerland) Monaco, Nice, Marseille, Lille, Milau (awesome road on the way to the bridge..) Le Mans (2 yrs ago)
If you do the Milau bridge... dont bother calling into the viewing point!! (if travelling from Nice) carry on past the viewing point following the signs to Milau (we stayed at an Ibis in Milau) then abit further up there is a layby on the carriageway with the bridge behind u!! I'll find the pic! After this point a bit further up you turn off for Milau town center.

It works out about £65.37 + Vat a metre for panneling (no backing) and £68.75 + Vat for seating with a cotton backing.. ive got 2 metres of each, and will have some spare... which i will hang on to i think..
Heres a pic...

Sounds like its going to look mate.
Good to know I'm not the only one going out of their way to get the interior just right! Picking up the final few pieces from the flockers tomorrow morning .
A couple of interior parts prototypes are being made next week, hope they come out how I hoped. Watch this space!
What are you having flocked mate? Clock binacle and dash top??
I thought about getting the dash top and clock binacle done in Alcantara.. but the few ive seen, well, not to my exacting standard!! But flocking... i will be interested to see yours when done.. Some friends with Novas have had theres done and it looks the dogs... if anything, stoping the glare in the screen of the dash..
Whens yours going to be complete?
Cheers

The dash and binnacle are waiting to be covered in black alcantara. I had problems with most of the plastic parts looking very tired and scratched and it worked out cheaper to get them covered than buy new parts from Vauxhall!
The rear shelf and steering column surround are flocked and ready to go back on but they have had a problem with one of my sills so still waiting for those to be finished. The same company are also making a cover for the flocked sills difficult to explain but will post some pics when its done and back on
OTT? ......probably. its becoming addictive

Hi Nick,
It's gonna look fantastic and completely transform the interior. Any chance you could text me this Pete Lentons number or where he's based. I'm after having my drivers seat side bolster refurbed, either with similar material or leather as it will probably wear less. Maybe I could pop down with you when your's goes to him only if he would welcome any extra business of course!
Some nice trips you've been on there, i've been trying to convince the Mrs for sometime that she CAN drive through Europe in just bikini.
Cheers

Jay,
I dont think i'll be disapointed!! They have a good reputation... and the job on the Nova was spot on
They are based opposite the Kenilworth Pub in Cheadle Hulme.. go down the little road next to the curry house.. Im taking the trim down in the van the tuesday after the bank holiday, so your more than welcome to come along.. it might be an idea to come down in your car so they can give you a price to sort yours...????
The road trips were awesome mate... the other half loved it... especially down near Nice etc.. boiling hot!!
We'll have to plan sommit!?! we went for 10 days.. and managed with luggage for 2, plus we brought gifts back and managed to cram them in! LOL!!
subseamac...
Loving the hard top i bet that took a while to do, stitching etc..
Ive still not decided wot im going to do to the dash top... may just leave i reckon..
Cheers

Nick,
I know where they are, I went to the garage next door when I needed help doing my last engine mount! I actually called in to the retrim place and got a quote for my seat in Jan last year! Small world hey?!
Give me a shout tomorrow and i'll meet you down there if you like.
Cheers

The guy managed to match the stitching to the tan leather (Thanks Manderin ) I also took the pull handle surrounds back to the plastic underneath, which IMHO look far superior to the crappy silver...... and much harder wearing.
Hopefully getting the console back this week..

Just had my Cards, Dash and centre console re-trimmed in Alcantara..

Looks nice
Droped all my seats etc of this am... hopefully back for the weekend, if not early next week..
Ive decided against having my centre console done (handbrake / gearlever surround) in alcantara as its all scratched from the drivers seat runner... Over time i reckon the alcantara will start to look a mess and possibly rip?? Just going to stick to getting the carbon fibre one i reckon.. in matt of course!
Cheers
