Hi i am in contact with a motorsport company who deals with speedline corse. I have asked them if they are able to get a hold of the 2110's which i assume are the ones that are on the VXR220's is this correct? They have replied with are they for racing/rallying as they dont appear to be suitable for road use (according to them) i have given them wheels specs needed and asked for the difference between the wheels as they appear to be able to get a hold of the 2010's. Dont get your hopes up yet as i am unsure about the reason why speedlines are so hard to get a hold of. Regards

now I may be talking nonsense but bear with me.... Would it not be possible for a third party wheel manufacturer to make some speedline copies. I assume that that there are licensing implications but if the price was right then maybe Speedline would do some sort of deal whereby they allow a different firm to make the wheels on their behalf. I suspect that these wheels would not even need to be branded in order to be bought by owners from this site. Perhaps a more formal approach to Speedline from TMS & VX Owners would carry enough weight to be taken seriously. There must be some money in this for an enterprising soul.

Just a thought... The company your were trying might have been looking at the magnesium speedline wheels. These are still available afaik. Bit of a risk for the road as they are more easily damaged than the ones originally supplied on the VXRs.

The guys at the Speedline UK depot said they get calls from re-sellers on a weekly basis asking for these wheels and they still couldn't do anything  The EVO uses the correct size, but with a 114 PCD instead of 110 and still no chance as the holes are drilled during production  The best chance is to approach Compomotive, as they use/used exactly the same moulds, and switched to the six spoke design shortly after Speedline (ie they copied them). They were willing to make two specific wheels of each size for me in the six spoke, so I guess if there were enough interest they may be willing to resurrect the old castings - I'll try contacting them again, but I think the helpful guy (Mark) has left now :(

Hi all, Having worked in the diecasting industry, I find it a puzzle that Speedline refuse to produce a batch of the VXR wheel. I presume the die are still in existence therefore its no sweat to recondition the die sets and resume production albeit a limited run. Producing wheels is a batch process and the tool set up costs could be covered by a group buy deal etc. Its no problem to reproduce the alloys, China has dozens of companies that could easily reproduce the wheel to the exact design spec on mechanical properties and dimensions etc. The answer lies in where the wheels are cast and finished?? Cheers Ian
