Has anyone ever tried to actually talk to a person from the DVLA over the phone? I have just spent 20 minutes of my life trying too and it just can't be done!! It's just recorded message after recorded message of utter shite that's costing me money!!

Nope it just can't be done!! It would be cheaper and take less of my time to drive to Swansea myself. That's if the office actually exists and even if it did when I got there I would find some spotting faced kid behind a desk far to big for him sitting on a high chair doing no work and drinking cups of tea!! Assam and Darjeeling tea If you know what I mean!!

We have an office just round the corner from my work. You just go in, take a ticket and wait. Swapped my reg in about 10mins flat.

Nearest DVLA office to me is 36 miles away! Closer than Swansea though!!
