Right sorry to come across like a bit of a knob lol. BUT...im a tad frustrated at the moment. How do i turn the light off on the dash for the ABS system, i disconnected the sensor on the front right wheel as the ABS is frankly dangerous in my opinion but im fairly certain that there was an intermittent fault prior to me taking it out. I know that plugging it back in should fix the issue, but i would like to know if there was a way of basically turning off the light on the dash so it will pass an MOT. Without having to take the bulb out of the dash, so is there a fuse i can remove or something? The testing place requires that light off to pass the car, along with the size of my number plate (although i had the original sized ones too) and the HID's one of them supposedly wasnt working at the time of the test. I would have personally turned the lights off then back on again...but i guess thats just common sense eh. Bloody place! Thanks for any help guys, its an N/A btw if that makes any difference.

Well i have to go and pick the car up in a min, shame my mate couldnt get hold of me earlier in the day as i could have explained all he could have done for me prior to taking it to the MOT station was to reconnect the hub, and turn the lights off then on...lol Just a tad annoyed as it means i have to take the car back to that mot place which is in worthing, which isnt really conveniently close to me

Shame im at the point where i cant wait to get rid of the car, i have honestly fallen out of love with it over this past 6 months. No real reason just all the little VX things that used to be quirky have all mounted up to p*ss me off royally.

Hate to be a trouble maker but a strict MOT place will require the light to come on then go off. Its something to do with the ABS boot sequence which shows its working properly.

Fit a switch in one of the wires to an ABS sensor. Not the rear nearside though. That way you can switch it on and off as you please

Try your luck, I dropped mine to get an MOT last week, forgot to reconnect the ABS wire. Passed it with ABS light on :D

The first fuse in the fuse box closest to the front of the car is the abs fuse , you can pull it out and check if the abs light stays on , I just cut one of the wires and fitted the switch onto the plastic panel near the fuse box chinky chinky

Well plugging the connector back in the hub didnt sort it as i had hoped :( so looks like i actually need to fix this properly within the next few days. I plugged in a Snap on Modus at work and it gave me an error when i tried to mess about with the ABS stuff, i checked the ecu for any fault codes etc and cleared it just incase. But very frustrating as i need to get my green ticket lol I was under the impression that the modus should be able to tell me which hub the error is at. I know it isnt the nearside rear as my speedo is working fine. Does this mean i need to visually inspect the other wires and such going to the hubs? If anyone has anything to add please do, oh and everyone is right...that one cap head on the pax seat is a complete bitch to remove haha

You may need to take it for a drive once the error is fixed to remove the light. If you have speedo then yes the nearside rear is fine so the other 3 need checking

I drove it about 30 odd miles back from where i was when i connected it. Still showing the ABS light and its definitely not working (i tested it lol) Well looks like i will have to find sometime this week to take the wheels off and have a look at the hubs. I do hope it is just a case of an obvious wire that has come off lol. Cheers guys

The Modus should give you live data on all four wheels / sensors. Take it you have checked the fuse

If you remove the ABS fuse the speedo will stop working.
