Well boys and girls after a little over 3 years with the VXR its time to move on. No drive in the VXR can be described as anything other than an event, it packs a punch bigger than most cars twice its cost and then some, and everytime I drive her it feels like I'm strapping on a rocket pack. However a serious case of cylinder envy and the fact that I want to do more European touring next year, means its time to move on. All being well my new toy gets picked up in early April and whilst I've been offered a VERY good trade in value, I'd rather she go to an enthusiast and I won't deny if I can make a little more money selling privately then so much the better. She is Number 20 of 65 and I added the number plate W20VXR when I first bought her. Since its such the perfect plate and of absolutely no use to me I will be including this in he sale. Spec (and what the mods costme) is as follows Private Plate W20VXR £400.00 Pro Alloy Rad (no more worrying about explodign plastic end caps) £295.00 Pro Alloy Gearbox Breather bottle (allows the gearbox to breath without throwing oil over your rear tyre, and easy filling when changing the oil) £90.00 Pro Alloy Fuel Tank (lighter weight and adds 10 Litres capacity) £510.00 Pro Alloy intake pipe (Faster engine pick up and helps reduce the chances of a blown MAF) £89.49 Miltek exhaust and Thorney Motorsport remap (240bhp). Backbox recently replaced less than 500 miles ago £2,050.00 Spitfire Engineering rear brace kit (makes the car much easier to steer on the throttle and tightens everything up) £225.00 Shortshifter £50.00 MMG Rear diffuser (brand new with spacers) £200.00 AP Ali Bell Front Discs (light weight and you only have to replace the rotors when they wear not the bells) £600.00 Eliseparts Ali Bell rear discs (light weight and you only have to replace the rotors when they wear not the bells) £245.00 Focal 6.5" K2 Power Component Speakers £250.00 Sony Headunit with stalk commander £300.00 Powerflex Front Engine Mount Inserts £20.00 Powerflex rear Engine Mount Inserts £20.00 VXR sill covers £30.00 Lightweight Crank Pulley £120.00 Lightweight (saves 4kg) Odyssey battery £90.00 Revotec Heater Pipe upgrade £76.00 Eliseparts wiper arm with integral jets £52.00 Braided brake lines £70.00 Racing Blue Brake fluid uprated Sachs clutch £199.00 Thats nearly £6Ks worth of mods Additionally Tracker Carbon Expansion Bottle sunguard New Expansion Bottle (due to discolouration of original) Momo Gearknob pristine speedlines full respray armourfend to front and turbo ears Left and right side engine mounts replaced R1Rs, new rears have less than 500 miles on them yellow stuff pads all round set of barely worn pagids for the front (RS14) (only removed as I was advised NOT to break in new discs with the Pagids) Full Service history oil changes every 5000 miles (Silkolene 10w 50) Gearbox oil changed (Redline MT90) Geo recently done to 340R spec by PSR Automotive 43000 miles Always Garaged I have a file an inch thick with service History and invoices. Code card and original Track Pass (numbered to the car and issued by Vauxhall when sold new)are present. When weighted on the weighbridge last year she came out at 840Kg I will be adding some pictures ASAP Those of you reading regulalry will remember I had a small accident last year where the rear end hit the Armco on the A1. Thread link http://www.vx220.org..._1#entry1077598 I would stress that the damage was cosmetic only and did not result in a write off of ANY classification, PSR are writing me an engineers report detailing the work done and I'm happy for anyone to talk to Paul at PSR. They have done an amazingly good job. I'm giving full disclosure as when buying a VXR in particular its important to know what your getting. I'm looking for £16450 which with those mods your effectively getting the VXR for £10500 which has to be a bargain in anyones eyes.

that must be a record 1 minute and reaised I'd forgotten something She has had 3 owners. the first owner sold her at 700 miles when she was puchased by Ekona (another member on here) Ive known Dan for years so have known the car personally since the 700 miles point. I then purchased from him at around 18000 miles and have owned her until now.

thanks Rob replacement will have a Porsche badge :-) as the only things I have driven that have given me the permagrin so far have been Porsche badged, not that I have enough spare body parts to pay for a GT3 which would be the ideal scenario

thanks Jim I reckon shes probably worth £1K to £1500 more based on what the lat few have gone for possibly even more. However I have around 3 weeks before she goes and the trade value was so good that it easier all round to sell her a little cheaper and let saomeone else get some benefit. If she doesn't go in time, I'll start removing the easiest to go bits and sell them later, so if anyones interested nows the time before teh mod list shrinks. Because I'm not getting anymore trade in with the mods than standard.

Bugger Mark can't you wait a year until I get the wedding out of the way and then sell it to a mate?? chinky chinky I would bit your hand off if all my capital wasn't tied up in dresses, shoes and sodding chair covers. Swap for an NA and I'll give you £9k next year :gayfight:

Unfortunately REIS won't touch new sports car clients, only retaining select currently insured clients. CCI almost have a monopoly if you want track cover now.

just been chatting with REIS about swapping over to the new car and it seems they still accept new sports car clients, and they still do track cover, just not VX220s as they have been hammered recently with the claim volumes

As an independent opinion on this (from a man who looked at and walked away from 6 or so cars), it is as good as it looks in the photos. Saw it couple of weeks back when picking some bits off. Had I not bought my VXT would have made an offer there and then.
