if you use the supertech retainers make sure there is plenty of gap between them and the follower, we thought we had enough with mine and it ended up being catastrophic.. i would grind the bottom off the followers just to make sure.

I think the valve springs / lifters could be The problem but let's start with the loom it's the easy option first thumbsup

If its valve springs/lifters/valves whatever why does it happen to the same cylinder and only that cylinder(my car/JJJ,s/Sutol's)? Is that not the cylinder that gets the fuel last so any starvation will show on that cylinder?

What are the chances of getting it into courtenays? or any dyno for that matter which will give you a AFR reading, at least that way you know what the fueling is doing.

I think you're right Lee. Springs/lifters + rebuilt head (again) is £600+ so I'd rather try the loom and swirl pot solution first. Might just do it.

We have compression when it's stationary. We seem to have fuel as it spits flames. We are losing the spark, or a lifted valve is preventing compression at full chat.

Worst case it doesn't solve it then I find out at Cadwell and I have to short shift again there and the National. Short shifting will not provoke the fault and I can still learn the track and it wont make it worse then I have two weeks till my next race to get the head rebuilt.

done it :)

Legend, nice one dude! That'll be my new desktop then :)

Because that cylinder has the worst fuel and air supply so gets to dangerous temperature before the rest! If it then detonates without compression it burns the end of the plug off and that's what's happenned to us.

Exactly so the thing to do is solve the initial problem of it having an inferior or inadequate supply than the others. Swirl pot and/or, if possible/available a larger fuel rail??

I think a swirl pot and Bosch 044 pump would solve the problem I have never had a fuel problem with that set up
the bosh pump is a beast of a pump
