Never really understood why there is such negativity towards VX220s in 'some parts' of the Lotus Community. Yes, they didnt have the same engine (K-series) but most Lotus drivers would sell their soul for a Honda transplant (and many have, inc Duratec, Audi). Yes, suspension wise it was a little 'dumbed down' (i.e. softer) than the Lotus but most Lotus enthusiasts have fitted after market Nitrons .. and the body .. surely nothing to get too upset about, have always liked the look of the VX and no-one can say that Jimmy's doesn't look the dogs. Is it really just the 'badge'? Irrespective, if you're an Lotus Fan and into Motorsport I think a giant killing Championship win from a 'Lotus built' car would be something to celebrate.

You hit the nail on the head there. That is in fact where some of the SELOC crowd miss the point. They have bought a badge not a pure sportscar.

I understand the series has cost Jimmy more than he had hoped, but to have turned the car around from an idea to track car and compete with some of the cars that are in that series is just astonishing. The help and support (paid and unpaid) around him has been top drawer. A cracking driver with some unbelievably dedicated people around him.

I uploaded Jimmy's best lap from the trackday we did the day before as the Vbox doesn't do the interior sound justice .. had to have my intercom of Full Power and was still a bit of a struggle to be heard. This lap was also 0.5 faster :) Maxx

Fantastic result, Jimmy. Congratulations on the class championship. thumbsup Remember, even Vettel hasn't won every race of the season, so nothing to be down about.

Well done again Jimmy and Team VX :grouphug:
Mike let's see you in the Championship next year...how about you Max?
Not you Joe though :P

It's not for me, I can't commit my time as I have a lot on the go now & next year. I prefer to roll up at a track day & spend as much or as little time just chasing car's. Then pack up & drive back when I've had enough.

...Jimmy & Joe will I'm sure will both do well & I'm hoping to at let make one race next year!
