What/who is BAre RAcong? A clichet joke? KIndly, Paul
I`m not a joke
The numbers is very good but tested in roling road that give low figures. The powergraph goes well over 7500 rpm.

My NA engine have 252 CompCams, racing hedder, 2.5" exhaust and OBD Tuner. The AFR target value is changed from insane OEM 12.7 to 13.2 and the ignition is advanced 3-4 degrees. The inlet is still OEM but will be changed soon.

Would you want any more power lee? What about liners?Estimated at the flywheel about 380 bhp but there is more to come ,More cc rads and need to flow a Saab head to its limits ,My head is the restrictive factor now.

No not really but what I want to do is get the head done and then I should be able to run less boost for the same power which should mean less Heat ;-) .Would you want any more power lee? What about liners?Estimated at the flywheel about 380 bhp but there is more to come ,More cc rads and need to flow a Saab head to its limits ,My head is the restrictive factor now.

Flowing the head will help a couple of percent, but lifting the valves (particularly the inlet side) will help more IMO. How much lift do the Saab heads give in OEM config? 8.5mm to 9 mm?No not really but what I want to do is get the head done and then I should be able to run less boost for the same power which should mean less Heat ;-) .Would you want any more power lee? What about liners?Estimated at the flywheel about 380 bhp but there is more to come ,More cc rads and need to flow a Saab head to its limits ,My head is the restrictive factor now.

Liners is an odd one. Some folks are running 600bhp on oe liners. From what I've read the issue is with the high cylinder pressures lifting the head slightly. This allows the block tubes to move and the liners break. Those that are running big power on stock liners have used strong head studs (bigger than the ARP's) and fire rings round the bore with a copper gasket. The fire rings help locate cylinder to head and the bigger studs help clamp it all down. There are those that say this is just luck though.
Some folks also dislike darton liners as they are prone to vertical movement without the 1" of blockfill poured in on top. There have also been one or two where the block has split in half!
IMO the new gen 3 block is the way to go if you want reliability.
380 bhp is awesome. Was it at this level when Joe took me for a spin at Pembrey?
