seems I have a problem
the manifold is glowing red hot and Jon isn't happy with it, he thinks it may be the cams, I had a problem when we first put them in and it was thought it was fueling causing it but turns out they may be the cause. I wonder if in fact they are BLOWER cams and not stage 1/2
Will try oem again and see what happens
anyone got any blower cams laying around that I could borrow?/buy?
I have blower cams, stock cams and saab turbo cams. You're welcome to a borrow of any.

Thanks really appreciated will keep that in mind
That's not so good.
Even if they were only Stage 1 or 2 cams, would they have that kind of effect? I'd have thought they'd still work okay just not deliver all of the possible power that the engine and Harrop should be capable of delivering, as the timing of them should still be suitable for the engine. Out of my comfort zone though, so who knows.
Strange isn't it, You assume they are the correct ones thou Matt, guess where they came from.. wonder if I was sent the wrong ones?
I will see about getting them to someone who can check the profile for me

I'm sorry, but it is a boosted application on an engine with low ignition advance and most likely tuned rich.
It has to be glowing red !
Mapping sessions on a friends race SC Speedster... (on a standalone)

Gawd, I hope mine doesn't do that out on the road/track. Might have to rig up one of those Mickey Mouse £10 video cameras in the engine bay to check. It has to be glowing red !
I thought it was a lean mixture that caused real heat, rather than a rich mixture?

Can also be due to cam timing. I doubt yours has the same problem Matt otherwise Courtenay would have reported this when your was on the rollers.

Rich = unburnt fuel... lower engine internal temps as the additional fuel acts as a coolant basically in the combustion chamber; but it is then burning in the exhaust so high temp in the exhaust...
It isn't glowing that extreme when the car is moving, but on the dyno it is
Btw, EGTs are around 850°C on this setup so nothing extraordinary

I guess that is not the sort of support you are looking for right now is it?
