Is "fit a standalone" an acceptable idea ?

You wanna borrow my LSJ ecu?? Just joking, as I do not know yet if I will experience similar problems on the higher loads. Too bad the Z20LET ecu is still not running right. (Remember that some US tuner had a similar throttle-slammed-shut problem, but that was on a very high power (4-500+ WHP) LSJ or LNF engine...)

Is there a map swap at this point? I know there's a map swap at 2250rpm on the Z22 ecu which is giving me the odd problem. If there's a map swap and an obvious hole thats making it knock or run lean it could be shutting down as a safety feature. Do you have any knock retard measurements around this or a wideband lambda reading?

I don't want to go standalone yet I have put too much time and money into this conversion, I will do some research on the us sites about it shutting. Not certain if it swaps map over. It is not the TB, tried a z20let one same thing, S/c tried an m62

I just spoke to Jon and it sounds at the moment like it is specific to Nick's car, they should know more this afternoon.

as it's set up for a different engine could it be reading engine vibrations as knock? or are these filtered out?

Shouldn't that just retard the ignition? Are there any fault codes?

Since the beginning of this ECU swaps story I said I couldn't see how an iron block/cam belted engine knock filter setup could work without issue on an alloy engine with a chain which is waaaaaayyyyy more noisy.
Still I doubt it is the issue here, and if it is it should work by simply changing the torque of the sensor bolt or simply removing it ?

My guess is more around a MAF issue, do they use a MAF sensor as on the z20LET ?
