Just landed in fact still in the flight deck, about to go to Basle so can't be long. Got a message from Jon that they are getting there, up to 6800rpm (7200 is the aim) only made 361bhp and just shy 299lbs thats on the standard pulley, good news is it's still climbing. He seemed happy with that and isn't talking about changing the pulley, however I really want about 380 so I will have a chat tomorrow. 2 smaller ones are available to be fitted. Standard 80mm so 20psi 2.7" = 68.58mm @25.71psi 2.8" = 71.12mm @24.29psi Glad the ecu transplant seems OK The original build had oem pistons which I changed for wiesco so got a drop in comp ratio there so lost some power (359bhp/287lbs 7000rpm) but still had hoped for more with the cams properly timed.

Excelent. You should be more or less spot on 380 BHP (according to my calcs) if they raise the revs another 400 RPM. I can't imagine you need more than 380 BHP on a track unless you are up against a Radical or a some huge powered vehicle or unless it has huge straights and sweeping curves like the Nurburg ring. Very pleased for you, would love a psx ride sometime, maybe come over to mine and trade rides ;)

A Harrop loves to rev, so aim high with your rpm limit. thumbsup (you have the Supertech springs. right? =>7500 will get your 380,,, )

Yep Supertech but just thought it was easier to up the psi with a smaller pulley 24psi instead of 20 will be ok want to keep longevity of the engine by keeping the revs down

Fab News Nick, wow, that's a lot of Horses.... Hope you're gonna get fatter tyres or take some drifting lessons :P

It'll be epic on a wet Silverstone track. :o I hope to get a PAX ride too!

You'll need more than just power to keep up with a Radical!!!

....Not much keeps up with them, end of story.

there is a few outfits out there that will happily map Syvecs - better than been stuck to just Courtenaysport.

One of the benefits of getting the turdo Motronic ECU in there, will be that we've got more chance of being able to get it mapped in other places, as it's pretty much an open book.

I'd love to punt £2.5k on a Syvecs ECU, custom loom and mapping but that's 25% of the value of the car. :(

Its not £2.5k, RRP is about £1200. The loom is not a big job once a plug and play adapter is done, and the mapping is a lot moroe straight forward. Bearing in mind a racelogic traction control is £800 alone, It pretty good value.

Doesn't it need an external ETB controller/translator box of some form as well, that Chris had to develop? I'll stand by my £2.5k estimate as it will all be virgin territory as far as looms and mapping are concerned, for the first SC'd Z22SE VX that rocks up and asks for it. I'd love the flexibility but just not at any cost, the car doesn't warrant it.

Klassen has enabled traction control on the VXT ECU and last I heard, he had done something with launch control in there as well. Granted, it may well not be as sophisticated as the Syvecs implementation, nor even workable on the Z22SE engine but I wouldn't specifically be looking either anyway.

I'd wager a moderate sized burger that if the Launch/Traction control is OEM code in the VXT PCM, then it will be as good if not better than the Syvecs one. Granted Syvecs seem like a well sorted bunch, nothing compares to millenia of experience/engineering put into OEM PCM systems :)

I didn't really go into the details on it but I got the impression it was probably OEM based code. Just not sure how well that would work if it's translated from a FWD implementation to a RWD chassis. I guess it's either on or off as well, unlike the Syvecs (or Racelogic) adjustable stuff.

The mapping is easy with an ecu like this - just going through the process myself on my exige. Its not that expensive either when you consider what you get....traction control, launch control, switchable maps, data logging etc. You can also set it up with a whole host of engine safety features. Great bit of kit.

The fuel and ignition maps are easy.... except it's maybe 10% of the job...
All the other stuff is really difficult to map, all the correction maps, all the PIDs (especially the DBW TB one).
Think the TC is just turning on a trigger ? It's loads of maps leading to a target TB or ignition reduction map on different factors (EGT, wheel speeds...)
It's not something you can do on a DIY basis and needs professional mapping with much more spent time than only the fuel/ign maps.

2.5k£ is a conservative figure imho.
