Turns out much of the problem is down to the map being modified from a turbo one which see the boost/timing of a turbo and s/c as something completely different. Klassen is working on modding the map as he needs to find some info regarding timing which is buried somewhere in it.
***

I can understand that an SC needs a different timing advance than a turbo engine, but don''t understand why Klasen needs to "find" buried timing info in his mapping... Is that part of the Z20LET ecu mapping not (yet) easy to adjust???

PS; I can dig out a typical advance map (boost vs. rpm) for an SC ecotec for you.

And with all that time and money spent, you could have a Syvecs or a Motec :P

Here's a timing map of the Supercharged 2.0 LSJ Ecotec engine, but no idea if this remotely corresponds with your current Z20LET mapping:

(Left axis is Cylinder airmass [g/cyl])

I wonder if there is a simple way to xref MAF to cylinder g/cyl , other than g/cyl = MAF / rpm / 60 / 2 bangs This is assuming the xguage figures from the MAF are g/s

I gather he has hit the limit of the amount of timing he can adjust at a particular stage of the map , If I remember Jon said he needs to find buried in the map another value to adjust as this ecu seems to go into some default safety mode, I think it is confused as to why so much advance is being asked for.

Interesting to see how it looks TA

Thank you so much and Atomx also, neither of you will get a ride now (IF when it works properly) ;) Do you happen to know my wife she normally says things like that

I still haven't sold the DTA so I have a backup plan

Going to CMS on Thursday as Jon has said it's there, I will put the 80mm pulley back on till I find a way of reducing the IAT over the long term.

Based on Nick and Joe's most recent posts... It looks like he has.

If so those two should be really bloody happy. I just need passenger ride now.

Different things. Nick is going with the turdo ECU and Joe is going in a different non-Courtenay/Klassen dependant route. Fingers crossed for tomorrow Nick. Be nice if you can finally drive the car again before summer washes away entirely. thumbsup
