Found there is a difference in 60-2 (or GM 58X) reluctor timing between the US 2.0 LSJ engine and the later 2.4LE5 (and later 2,2 L61's with 58X):
http://www.redlinefo...-thread-18.html

Quote: The crank ring is off by 12 deg (difference between LE5 and LSJ). You would need to replace the ring on the LE5 crank with the LSJ ring.

So this could mean that my 2.0 LSJ (and so maybe the Saab/Z20NET too) is just differently timed than the Z20LET engine, explaining the 14* difference I found.
Somebody should simply measure up a Z20LET...

OK, after some Googling I'm getting seriously confused with all info.

For the Vauxhall 2.0-16V 60-2 pattern I found:
114* BTDC
120* BTDC
126* BTDC
Conflicting info, but seems due to what tooth all this is measured to (1 tooth = 6*)

http://www.msextra.c...gger-wheel.html =>
Bosch 4 cyl (Peugeot, Vauxhall) = 60-2, 114 deg tooth #1
Note this is on tooth #1, meaning the 1st tooth after the gap, rotating clockwise...

http://www.scribd.co...Vauxhall-engin4

Info on trigger wheel settings was on thevaux-extreme forums somewhere but I cant find the page, by they way which is an awesome forumfor information for megasquirting our engines. The main value that is important is the Degreesbefore TDC or trigger offset, depending on which menu-set you have in megatune, and whatfirmware you run. The degrees before TDC is 126 (360 degrees divided by 60 teeth, timesby 21). The offset is 21 for the Vauxhall 60-2 trigger wheel

I said that many times before, but there is no reason at all the ref position will be the same between different vauxhall engine with the same trigger pattern I won't be surprised it is different between a Z20LEx, a LSJ, an LE5, a 07+ US L61, a Z16 or any other one... each with a different angle

Digged a little more on several stand alone forums and again read there that the missing teeth on a 2.0-16V VX engine are at 120* and 126* BTDC, what corresponds to the above 114* for the 1st tooth after the gap.

If you have clocked your trigger wheel at 117* BTDC for centre 1st missing tooth, your ignition will occur 9* later than commanded...

Post #14: Posted 31 March 2011 - 10:28 PM

Seemed to ahve found the answer to the trigger wheel angle and where it is measured from
117* BTDC is then measured from the centerline of the first missing tooth

Thats irritating! At least now the problem has been found and it should all be down hill from now. The end is in sight and we are all waiting on the edge of our seats for the BIG number!

Courtenay should be able to adjust the timing for different crank trigger wheels as the ECU is supposed to be fully cracked

:yeahthat: But that implies that they must check the crank timing first before they start mapping these conversions. But good to hear that you find that the source of your problems is cam related, but interested in what really caused it.

Where would I put the pipe for the Charcoal canister valve? As normally it connects to the tb but the Porsche one doesn't have this.... Do I put a pipe connector into the air filter and put it there? Or will it try and suck fumes from the tank?

I have my EVAP valve connection on the top of the SC, behind the TB so always on vacuum. Think this is also unused by your builds?
