Managed to bag myself a carbon wing from thorneys. just waiting an age for the uprights as had none in stock, has anyone else had any issue with waiting times from thorney or just me. Also, does anyone have the thorney carbon wing....if so how have you fixed it through the top and bottom part of the clam.

Where's that popcorn smiley?

:yeahthat:

I can't recall the details, but aren't there some people on here still waiting for some parts over a year later?

Alex, there have been a number of "dis satisfied" posts on here about Thorneys, probably not so much recently. It got re-ignited, I guess about 12 months ago when a dis satisfied owner of a BMW posted his rantings on a number of forums, including this one. A number of people jumped on the bandwagon in slating them. Personally, I haven't dealt with them, so I'm not in a position to say.

However, I can recommend MMG for services and parts thumbsup ;)

Bought my TD's from TMS via Ian, very good then. He's now left, no experience with them since. I would say going on other peoples opinions...its mixed. Quite a bit based on other customers stories....

TMS have serviced mine over the last three years and I've absolutely no complaints whatsoever. They've even sourced a few parts for me and all have arrived quickly. I'm expecting a new headlight that was ordered on Friday and is expected in on Monday. No reason to doubt it won't arrive.

No problems with any of my dealings with Thorney. I get my VX220 serviced there, they've always been very helpful, got many parts from there. Nothing but praise from me....

My only experience with them was a purchase via eBay for a NA footrest. It was advertised "being able to be fitted to a VX220" however it was delivered without the fittings to the floor.I queried this with them and was told that they probably had them somewhere and would send them if they turned up - 12 months later I still have a footrest sitting in my garage that I cannot fit. I did ask for a refund, but then they stopped communicating! Personally I would not deal with them again. Admittedly the footrest was cheap, but I still paid more for it than its worth as scrap metal which is all it really is to me without the fixings. Darren PS - If anyone has any fixings that they'd like to exchange for a few beer tokens please let me know.

Presumably you aren't aware that parts are still available from Vauxhall, and parts suppliers like LMF Vauxhall. You can therefore buy the fixings yourself; part numbers last two on here I believe: http://www.speedster...rest/index.html Even without the fixings, you could still attach it DIY eg double-sided sticky foam tape, or sticky-backed Velcro - and then you would be able to remove the footrest to hoover all the bits that fall in through the cut-outs So you'll have to come up with a better excuse for it still sitting in your garage :D

I inquired about a set of Satin Black 1.2 TD wheels over 18 months ago. They said that they would get back to me. I'm still waiting for the call...

I used them for servicing for 2 yrs without issue. Then had the VX booked in one day and the Zafira the next day. The VX was the only car booked in that day but it still took 6hrs. I nearly cancelled the Zafira but gave them a second chance. That was the only car they had booked in that day too and took 6hrs - they charged £80 for oil and ordered the wrong brake pads - nuff said!! I spoke to John Thorney about my experience and he effectively told me to f*uk off. I owned the VX for another 3 yrs and never went back.

Cheers for that - I might look into trying to get a couple of mounts or use the normal VX method of attaching bits with velcro (although it wasn't very good at holding my front number plate which is somewhere between home and work). At least it will be a use for the mis-sold footrest!
