I'm considering changing my seats for a couple of reasons, but mainly because after 400 miles in a couple of days in the car last week I was starting to get a sore back. For some reason my spine is a bit boney and there's a certain point which rubs on the hard back of the seat half way up. The standard seat seems to have next to no padding there so I'd like something a bit more comfortable. Are the Probax seats any good? I'd also like something with harness cut outs as when my girlfriend drives the car she has the seat a long way forwards leaving the harnesses in not the best position.

Why not eat more of these for a bit of "self padding" ?

And one of these for the holes?

I've spent best part of 3 months sat in those Tillet B5 seats (for 8 hours a day) with NO padding and have to say they are more comfy than the OEM cloth seats (which imho are THE most comfy seats available)

They do but you'll need the Lotus subframe for them or the Reverie subframe conversion kit.

I have Hangar 111's Reverie Exige-alikes. They have proven to be quite comfortable for long journeys - not as good as OEM though. They are probably too padded which means I sit a good inch higher in the car. Also, the shape of the carcass, coupled with the dodgy Reverie seat rail conversion kit (the driver's seat often jams or can be very difficult to move) means quite a bit of storage space is lost behind the seats. This is only an issue for touring when it is useful to get the soft top behind the seats. chinky chinky

Try the B5's before you buy. I'm skinny and tall, it seems this combo does not work with B5. I have been grinding the side bolsters of mine this lunch time. They were far too tight for me to begin with. I have really attacked my seat. I'll be fibreglassing/putting the strength back into the seat once I am sure there is going to be no more angle grinding!! Best regards, Paul

probax seats in black are £725 plus vat each with a 6-8 week wait, been told i can offer about 20% of this price so basically £725 plus postage. i have a probax and find it good but mainly purchased it for the harness holes.

Bloody crazy prices for seat, honestly are 2 seats really worth £1100 to £1400 ? Somebody is making a killing as usual (and it's not me :angry2: ).

:yeahthat: Mr Frogman is a quality guy and longtime VX owner. You could ask him to put padding in at the same time.

That may be an option, but those harness holes look a bit too close together. I'd also expect the cost of refurbed seats to not be far off the cost of a replacement pair of lotus ones.

I have a 06 Lotus Exige S (Crashed the vx in march, cat C). The seats are alcantara so hold you in place a lot better then my old leather ones. As I said, pop over one weekend for a look, not that far from you in Rayleigh my thread when i got the loti http://www.vx220.org...825-my-new-toy/
