It's not an Elise fuel filter on the VX? (haven't compared 'em, so I don't know...) http://www.elisepart...68/fuel-filter/ Would seem a bit odd that GM/Vauxhall used an M100 Elan filter although they may have used it too with the Isuzu engine in some models.. Bye, Arno.

If it's any help, the Wix filter is one for an Esprit V8.

It is indeed interesting.

Also this - http://cgi.ebay.co.u...#ht_1563wt_1139

Which suggests to me, VX fuel filters are the same as Elise K-Series arrangements?

It's also apparently used on the Esprit V8.

Maybe another case of Lotus using something, as they had a pallet load hanging around in a shed at Hethel, that they bought cheaply.

Ok, Vauxhall just rang me. He's got to wait for some technical drawings, so maybe tomorrow, but probably next week. He'll be able to confirm thread pitch etc (I mentioned flow rates etc, he'll see if he can get those). He mentioned that they've sold 19 this year, with no complaints. I explained that I've seen a few complaints on forums. He then told me that they last had a query in 2009 regarding the hole on the inside. I think it's the same query that's the pictures are of on the first post of this thread. And the result of that was that it was correct. So perhaps they're correct after all? The design has changed, so live with it? We'll find out shortly! I'll update when I have more news.

And now the VX community is now sorted for fuel filters.

Had my reply from Vauxhall Technical this morning - "Sorry, stock was mixed in warehouse". Fair enough.

So from now on, any N/A fuel filter ordered from a Vauxhall Dealer or anyone who Vauxhall Dealer's supply, it'll fit Posted Image

That said, I've got a fuel filter on my desk in GM packaging for a Lotus Esprit V8 if anyone needs one..........

Good to see its been looked into, I took the filter back to Lookers in Selly Oak where I purchased it from, along with the Rover one I bought to show them the difference. Think they were a bit surprised but didn't take the matter further but refunded me as they could clearly see it had a different thread size.

It was possibly the biggest challenge I've faced so far in life, it was a nightmare to sort. For starters, I had to send a fax, and then wait for a reply. No, hang on, that was it.

On reflection, it was not taxing in the slightest.

Posted Image rant over. I'm having a bad day, that's my excuse!

I think for the sake of safety (and principal), just get one from Lotus or local motor factors. Vauxhall have had their chance to fix the problem. Edit - VXT's might be fine - All my fuel filter issues relate to the N/A. Part number 9198066. I'm going to put up some photies of the wrong now in 10 mins. Hopefully it'll be a little clearer for others in the future.

Bump - it turns out that Vauxhall have actually sorted it.

I'll update with pictures in 2 mins. The holes in the top and bottom aren't the same size as the ones I ordered back in May.

So if a helpful mod could delete my rantings earlier, that'd be lovely. Posted Image

My local factors supplied one that didn't fit and my dealer sorted it for me. I think its just luck of the draw.

Yes, sorry Posted Image

I can re-take payment if you'd like? Header tank should turn up tomorrow morning so it's not delaying anything. Sorry.

Just found the other one that I got in May, it's the same as the one that arrived this morning. Checked the first page pics for the thirtieth time, Vauxhall one is still wrong by the looks of it (which is nice that I'm right for a change). So mod's - don't delete my earlier ranting about Vauxhall posts - They're ok to stay,
