Does the VXT have 5 or 6 gears? Whats it like in 5th gear from say 60mph, no need to drop down to overtake? I dont need to do this in my VXR but if i was to get the best out of the car 4th gear would be best

you can easily fit the astra vxr 6 speed gearbox to a vx220, much better acceleration than the standard 5 speed

It's already been hinted at, but if it's a stage 4 you're after...enquire whether it has a Chargecooler or an uprated Intercooler. May as well combine all the must have topics chinky chinky

How come everyones being funny and pretty much taking the p*ss? Is this how you welcome new members? Am i not posh enough for you lot? I've always asked questions about the VX220 on vxronline.co.uk and they said the best advice on buying one, info etc is to become a member on vx220.org.uk so i did and i just get shite like "This has kept me entertained for most of the day! I would love him to come on and say 'been to see the VX and hate it much prefer the Astra" Well im sorry to spoil your moment but i did not "perfer" the friggin astra, i loved the VX its great just how i expected it to be... never test drove it as the garage was closing but it was a lot easier to get in and out of than what people say. Thanks for the people who have give me some good info but to the people taking the p*ss its a bit sad, yeah i know its a bit of fun but why try scare me off getting a VX? Its the car i want and the car i've always wanted, maybe im not posh/stuck up enough to buy one but i couldnt give two fucks. "It's already been hinted at, but if it's a stage 4 you're after...enquire whether it has a Chargecooler or an uprated Intercooler." All the stage 4 VXT i been looking at has a chargecooler. Question about this if thats ok ladys? My mate said a chargecooler would get hot after so long and will lose power... is this true or is the chargecooler away from the heat?

Not trawled through the previous ten pages, but ignore any sh1t you get from some of the VX purists. Some think it's a sin to even get after market alloys! Welcome and I hope you find what you are looking for. Stage 4 from what I can gather. Nothing like jumping in head first. ;0)

We cannot be stuck up we own a Vauxhall not a lotus  Chargecooler is better than intercooler IMO To be honest you are still not gonna learn much until you get to test drive or pax em. Font worry about the "purist" whatever that or they are, I continue to get some stick for destroying one of the mintest NA's around and making it a track monster  You have to take alot on the chin and give as good as you get if you know what I mean ;) I take the p*ss out of people then when I ask a question I get it in return which is only fair  just look at the vinyl topic I posted up a little while ago  It's not a bad place just get yourself to a couple of meets and all will be forgotten! chinky chinky

You have come onto a site about a car where the only thing that matters is steering feel and handling and ALL of your questions have been about whether its faster than your astra or not. As such many members think you may be missing the point somewhat. You can get faster cars than the vx if that is all important is all most are saying.

Sorry if you thought I was taking the Mick out of you with my post I wasn't. I have come from a hot hatch background one not that great (fiesta ST) and one really good EP3 Civic Type R. We all like the sensation of acceleration but I found since getting the VX it's more about keeping the flow of speed down your favourite country lane and enjoying the purity of a really decent chassis but then I have an NA. Don't let the banter put you off this is a really friendly place and the most welcoming and knowledgable owners forum I have been on. Good luck with your search.
