As for the other question of acceleration above 80mph, well stage 4 would leave most things for dead, easily 300bhp hot hatches! Would be ferrari 360 , 911 turbo, lambo territory upto 140mph.

Is this true?

YES

Nothing wrong at all. I knew it would p*ss on the RS from 10mph. What if it was from 60/80mph, think it would of been a lot closer?

On the main straigh of a couple of tracks I go to my N/A gets to about 120-130 mph before I have to brake and it's perfecly stable. A bumpy road would be different obviously. On the longer tracks in the UK SC cars must be getting close to the rev limiter in 5th gear right? Is 7k rpm on an NA about 150mph? Just curious if with the power you guys run you don't run out of revs in top gear on the longer straights

Sorry, so is that faster than the VXT stage 4? Think it says the car is 270bhp on that thread

Hey I'm only playing with you. I figured that since it was a 3 or 4am and I think an 8am (still awake, completely blocked) reply you might have guessed I was a little intoxicated! Lol. No offence intended. If I hadnt been so drunk I would have linked you up to the back to the future page! In truth the stage 2 VXT will pull on a 300bhp (insert hot hatch) probably up to top speed. I wouldn't like to be behind the wheel much above 140! Had mine at this speed once and it was scary! I was waiting for a cats eye to pull the steering wheel from my hands and put me off the road.

Honestly go get a drive in an N/A, I tried both turbo and N/A, preferred the drive of the later, despite the bhp figures it's nippy enough. I bought last year with a view to supercharge... Can't wait to see what it's like then.

Again my appologies if I annoyed you.
Waggy.

No bother mate, im off to have a look at a 2.2 now to see how it feels and looks close up. I'd be getting the turbo though and i have my eye on a stage 4. How does the VX feel at around 100mph? I suppose because its light and very low its scary at high speeds, is it unsafe doing 140mph or just scary?

I'd say safe as safe can be at 140 lol. Brakes are good but the abs can be a bit hmm fun at times! I find I get a bit of steering judder between 75-90 then it comes good again. Let us know what u think of the 2.2 :)

Seeing how it left the ford you could take a plug out and it will still be faster

Not sure why you're surprised, 300fhp in a stage 3 S/C. Will rinse most cars. Even my stage 2 S/C at 250bhp would destroy an RS at lower speeds (Or at least it did the JamSport one).

If your still not covinced if a stage 4 has enough grunt for you then test drive one, put your foot down in any gear at any speed, sh** yourself and then buy it! Simple! It will make your astra feel pedestrian in comparison.

Does the VXT have 5 or 6 gears? Whats it like in 5th gear from say 60mph, no need to drop down to overtake? I dont need to do this in my VXR but if i was to get the best out of the car 4th gear would be best

Now before you buy a stage 4 make sure you know which stage 4 you want Stage 4 by x or y or z and when they quoted the figures did they strap the car down correctly and adjust the dyno to obtain the maximum bhp
