have made this up a easy to fit front splitter that is only conected to the front of the clam weighs under 2.5kg made of fiberglass.

decided the larger front splitters could cause damage to the front of the ali tub if you had a hardish impact so thought
a smaller item fitted to just the underside of clam would work better.

fitting wise will be up to you but im fitting this with about eight bolts across the width with large washers each side to spread the load
fitting would involve taking lights out to reach bolt in place but does not require clam to be removed.

will post some more pictures tommorow on car from distance, havent painted yet as shows what iy looks like better.

picture of where i would put fixings

If you were to fit one of these to the front of the car and not have any sort of wing what kind of differences are you going to notice. Is it really going to cause the rear to have less grip to the point of being dangerous or would a turbo spoiler be big enough to help counteract this. I know the exige rear wing is what everyone will want to say and it does look awesome but I would want to keep the car as oem reversible as possible. I know the turbo spoiler should be attached through drilling but it is an oe part. The splietter looks really good, I always thought the front of an NA looks a little unfinished without the turbo splitters on there.

well i imagine you would get more front end downforce but looking at the elise owners they fit similar sized splitters without any rear wing/spoiler and have never seen anything said about loosing rear end grip, i supose if you were doing 140mph then you would notice it but i havent tried this and will be fitting a rear spoiler of some sort soon on mine.

Looks great! Is it not just more cosmetic than anything else though?

No think it will definatly make a significant difference look at the lotus 211 and exiges all have a decent front lip, i found even the little turbo splitters made the front settle at high speeds so this will work even better.

It'll probably make an excellent base for anybody who fancies extending things further forward with a section of carbon/kevlar/plywood/whatever, as well. thumbsup Now I wonder just how strong extra-strong Velcro is..........?

It looks great, but from the pictures it looks "hollow" rather than closed on the underside. From a functional point of view, shouldn't it create a flat surface protruding forwads underneath the car?
