Has anyone ever seen or fitted an Exige style engine cover on their VX? I know they're in production, see http://www.customman...=17&n1=&n2=&n3= but havent actually seen anyone using one. Im just wondering how easy they are to fit and is this going to limit access to the engine bay so much it'll become frustrating. Find they'd really make the VX look a little more aggressive, combined with an Exige rear wing

Seems a shame we've got all these clever people who can make carbon fibre splitters and wings, but no ones produced an Exige style engine cover for the VX (not in Great Britain anyway) There must be £££ just sitting there for someone with the right skills :(

I suspect the effort in making them and having them fit right with a proper fitting kit plus the costs involved would negate any profit. I suspect no one would pay the cost price yet alone give any profit margin.

Edit: If you are interested my splitter cost around 500 quid in materials plus arouond 2 days labour. How much would you pay?

Seems like a waste of time and effort to me, if there's not dozens of people clamouring for them. If one doesn't exist for the Elise, hardly surprising there's not a queue of people trying to make them for the VX. Personally, I'd rather buy an Exige than a slightly dodgy pastiche of one.

The one thing I never liked about my Exige was the lack of rear visibility I really can't see why anyone would want to do this to a VX?

A rear facing camera would be an option for rearward visibility problems. My dad's mate had one set up on his Ultima.... Worked a treat..

The one I've seen has a louvred back section so visibility is no issue. I've nudged him for a few pics at it really does loook fantastic.

Posted Image German carbon "racing bonnet". Aparently ~10 of these were made for around €2000-€2600 each. Did ask the guy if the molds still exist....(no reaction)

The main problem I forsee with these is fitting and boot access. Must have a poke round an exige to see how thats done.

Thats gorgeous! Thats exactly what I'd imagined  2000-2500Euros is painful though and if FLDs figure of £500 costs for his splitter is right then I can see its just not economically viable then :(

What's "economically viable" on a VX220?? (That cover is full pre-preg autoclaved carbon though...)
