Id imagine it becomes difficult to entertain when sales costs go above 800-900. Which means production costs need to be 550-650, and FLDs already said it was 500 to produce his splitter But yeh, VX220 and economically viable probably don't go hand in hand in the same sentence :(

Surely if MVS can make full clams for less than £1000 they can make something like this for less (in GRP rather than CF tho), gotta be worth having a word with them if enough people are interested?

Economically viable: What an owner is prepared to pay less all your costs (production, development etc). If there's no profit margin there's no point really unless you want to make them out of the goodness of your heart. That coupe top is awesome and I can see the cost is justified but I doubt there'd be many sales.

Copying an existing moulding is FAR easier (and less costly in time and materials) than making a plug, moulding, prototyping, remoulding etc.

EDIT: If the moulds were available though.....

Thought about that, but apparently he's stopped making them. So unless someone is keen to lend theirs (of which there sounds to be only a handful in the country) sounds like this isnt an option.

That looks awesome. The best bit is that it still looks like a VX, rather than some Exige wannabe. I'd definitely be interested if they were made again at around the £800 mark.

My Ferrari Restorer can make me a perfect 1 piece or multi piece aluminium skin of the coupe fastback including louvres for around £2000 as he owes me some favours. How hard is it to make fibreglass copies, using it as the master? It would be a one off masterpiece, trust me. If enough people were interested, then it may make sense.

P1ss easy to mould off as long as the one-off was made with that in mind. However, I doubt you would get any return on that sort of investment.

stupid question, but how do the boot hinges work on that sexy bootlid? I can see 2 strutts but is it hinged to the upper section of the window frame?
