stupid question, but how do the boot hinges work on that sexy bootlid? I can see 2 strutts but is it hinged to the upper section of the window frame?

I'd guess off the roll bar cover bolts.

P1ss easy to mould off as long as the one-off was made with that in mind. However, I doubt you would get any return on that sort of investment.

I'm not trying to make any profit out of it. But, if 10 or so people wanted to commit to say £700 for one, then it may make sense. Any additional people interested would then pay a premium over the first 10 people. That would allow someone (not me) to make fibreglass copies of it at around £500 each. He could also produce a roof incorporating an air scoop to match, but I guess less people would be interested in the roof. Obviously, he could make it in steel instead. I can show you some of his work. If he can make an entire Dino body shell out of flat aluminium with no filler at all, then he can do virtually anything.

The rool bar cover is modified and the hinges on the boot looks like slots in which the boot rotate AND slide

Would this not still leave your car as a convertible? its just the boot/engine cover and not the roof is it?

It would, but it's the coupe / fastback shape I prefer, obviously the roof being removable is a plus for those preferring a convertable. I would leave it on, as I think it looks better like that, also you can hear stereo and my bald head doesn't get sun burnt or frost bite.

the problem with anything vx related is you will not sell a load of them so ok if you had a master to copy off then yes you could make a copy to make products from but you would have to have minimun orders of say 10. Even with a copy it still takes a lot of time and work to make a good mold to make your products from and with this larger item would take a good few days just to make the mold to make a item. as mentioned yes you can get a full front clam for say £1000 but there sell a lot more of these than a louvered rear for a vx Have the same thing all time can you make a fairing for this bike your sell loads and then you only sell five. with the rear for a vx i would guess you would struggle to sell more than 10 items so would have to be expensive to cover the mould costs and small production run. but if someone can get a original itme and ten plus buyers then maybe they could be made

Defo would pay (slightly over the odds if required) for one of those... been after one for a while but that one looks amazing. - only issue is will it foul the GT4 wing?

Robin, the big question is - Say if we did somehow managed to source a copy for you to mould and produce from, do you know a rough sales price range for the final product? Maybe the best option is if we could establish a list of interested people, we could then attempted to source a copy from Germany/Sweden or where ever else they've already been made. As a group purchase (which theoretically could set 10 of us back only £100 each) We could then produce cheaper copies for ourselves, and then sell further copies to other members and allow Robin and to a much lesser extent the group to make a small profit on all sales. Does anyone have any links on the German Speedster forums or other European forums to put the feelers out? Or anyone speak German to ask on: http://forum.opel-speedster-club.de/
