I've told you Deviant Boy, you can borrow my mould anytime you want, but tbh it's in a different league compared to the german one.
That thing is a fecking work of art, wish I'd seen the detail photo 4 months ago....

I actually prefer the shape of yours. Doesn't extend down the boot lid too much so keeps the VX shape more. I fancy a hybrid. Of course a spare would be available to a local VXer.

I'd be fretting about rearward visibility with one of these thingies fitted? One of the reasons I shied away from an Exige was the lack of rear mirror - transparent slats anyone?

looking at that picture posted on here that metal part would take some work to make just on own and imagine cost a few £££ to so maybe this may be the item that decides how much this would be in total. i think you definatly need one to see in the flesh to work out how its been made etc

A bit better than an Exige:

Think the metal frame is the easier part (lasercutting a CAD drawing) of this build. Molding all the GRP/Carbon parts accurately is more worrying for me...

A laser cut hinge would be the easiest. Fortunately I live right by a laser cutter, how handy! Moulding the lid would be time consuming but nothing too taxing. The biggest thing would be to suitably brace a mould of this size so it doesn't warp or flex over time or during moulding. My thought was a piece of alloy across under the roll bar cover flange (fnaar) on the bulkhead. I'd mount the hinges off that. I'd aslo thought about tying in the holes by welding a piece of 20g to the roll bar that covers the hole to reinforce it a bit. may not be required.

I would too for that money, but sadly the original ones had to cost €2200 - €2600, and that was only covering labour and raw materials (carbon)...
There's maybe an alternative hatchback option from Germany, but more racer oriented:
