I would have ventureshield professionally fitted.

Ventureshield now supply paintshield so they are the same product.
Armourfend is a bit older now and has more gaps as it has more sections.

I would not attempt diy.

The above link is to Covertech, just so happens that there current blog has MrSimbas Lotus on there page, oh and my VX220 ;)

I had the car re-sprayed and thought I want to keep it looking good, worth the investment. Ventershielding includes the lights, V, wing mirror, full sills, bumper and half way up the bonnet!

Helicopter tape, used on leading edge of helicopter blades, hence the name, is great stuff just bloody expensive!

That looks awsome but i just want the front lower section done as the car is on original paint and has the normal chips in places for a ten year old car its not bad and i only had the lower front done so the main car is original,but just thought it may be worth protecting the new bit at the front that gets all the stick .

Cost me £525 all in. Plus another £70 when I had to get part of it replaced when a branch went through the front clam, the venture shielding helped stop the cracking of the fibre glass!

I think the paint protection does a good job off protecting the paint work (still gets the odd mark on the film)But If you like the appearence off the car alot ie you like cleaning and polishing,after a period off time wax/polish gets stuck around the edges,IMO looks a bit tatty after a while,Think i would rather get the front end sprayed if needed rather then spend ££`s on armoufend/paintshield etc, This is just my opnion off it :) sure you will get different responses

That is just what i was thinking £120 to paint the front lower section that had all the chips,so how much do you spend to protect that before you say sod it just leave it and get it done again in a few years ? If for £50 i could have a good protection job (may be DIY)done that looked good then it may be worth it.

About 10 minutes to get chipped after the front respray in my case. :( Mines Ventureshielded now and even that isn't invincible. But, given the way I drive the car, I'd need to get it resprayed every 12-18 months (and live with an every increasing peppering of stone chips in between) let alone every 5 years.

I have the £50 DIY kit from edel parts fitted, just after a respray 3 years ago.
Still looks fine 99% today. (not as strong as armour/vendor, but good enough for me)
http://www.edel-car-...ameset_shop.htm -> opel speedster\Lackschutzfolien -> the one for 56 euro.
