and I ended up with 208BHP


How much torque, and what pully size was used?

Yep got a small charge cooler in the pax ear ( same size as the tubby intercooler ) :-)


What did that do on the rolers, if i may ask?

248 bhp with 211 lb ft . Would have cleared the 250 but got a NA miltec back box fitted, I'm more than happy with the result though ;-)

If you want to be tight just put a tubby or Milltek backbox or on, people are getting 250ish with them.

Original plan was to put a tubby one one on but never managed to get one in time. Torque was about 195ft/lb.

Final update

Just to wrap this up, I finally got a scan of the graph, after spending a day at Courtenay Sport I ended up with 208.73 BHP and 193.47 lb/ft of torque which I am very pleased with:

Mission accomplished, I set out to get 200-220BHP so I could see off your average TDi rep mobile and do it for about £1600+mapping, as it turns out it was £1675 of parts + £222 mapping, including an unplanned alternator and I don't think many diesels will be able to keep up.

It runs almost as well as it did before, slightly hesitant from idle, a slight smell of fuel but I need to route the breather filter somewhere out of the way and fuel economy when driving normally is pretty much the same.

Money and time permitting I will follow up with a new exhaust and charge cooling at which point I will have been better off doing a stage 2 but at least for now I get to enjoy the car all over again just like when I bought it over eight years ago.

I have been running it six months or so now and I still love it, it is fast enough to feel a bit special and I definately dont need more power but maybe will want more at some point. So far so good and I would recommend a stage 1 SC, it is a massive improvement over standard n/a power and I think money very well spent.

That power curve looks incredibly smooth. Mine (standard NA) feels very lumpy

Yep, that's the standard SC power curve. Looks pretty much exactly the same whether it's a Stage 1, Stage 2 or Stage 3. Definitely sorts out the emissions lumpiness in the standard NA map.
