Now has a black vinyl wrapped screen surround.

I always wanted to do that! Just the "V" to go now then...

Stunned this hasn't sold yet. Happy to answer questions from any prospective buyers.
Baz.

Even more shocking is that, although I've had more interest than I expected, not one person has actually showed up to view the car. I've had a few standard 'What's your best price' type emails that you know will never go anywhere, few offers of a part-ex that wouldn't work, 5 people have sounded exceptionally genuine then dropped off the face of the earth and 2 people who have made arrangements to come and view and not showed up. There is someone still in contact who says they are really interested and have the cash, but struggling to find to come and see it.

Yeah you always get loads of messers when selling. Personally I hate the "whats your lowest price" emails. Why would anyone give away the lowest price straight away? I also never give out my address to potential viewers - I get paranoid if they dont show up. They can meet me in a car park THEN i'll take them to my house if they show up. My last 2 cars that I have sold, Ive priced them just right, never been greedy and my cars are immaculate. I've put the price in the advert and mentioned that's its non-negotiable and only contact me if they willing to pay the asking price. Twice its worked for me and got no timewasters :)

My postcode takes you to the wrong street and most maps call this road another name (was meant to go through but was turned into a cul-de-sac). I think this car is priced fairly, although of course if someone came to the house with the right amount of cash in their hand I would negotiate. Car buying has certainly changed a lot over the years - I recall a time when you'd go look at a car, have a cup of tea and a chat, spend 10 mins negotiating, then shake hands and deal done. Now the first step appears to be 3 weeks negotiating via email.

A few!! You're lucky. I had 14 part exchange offers with ridiculous valuations of their car and I mean absolutely laughable. I also had two part ex offers that were only a few hundred quid away.

Well I know what I'd say to that suggestion... no way I'd meet someone to look at a car (with a deposit in cash with me to secure it if it's the car for me) in a car park with no other details than an email address and mobile number!

Selling a car is a nightmare but buying one can be just as bad!

I know what your saying but I explain to them that my house aint exactly easy to find. And as I said, they can follow me back to my house if they actually turn up. Whats so dodgy about that? Im up in Aberdeenshire, not inner city London  Sold a few cars that way, prospective buyers didnt have an issue with following me back to my house Posted Image

Given the amount of times this thread has gone off topic, I'm going to start a new thread some point this week. I'm dropping the price a little and if anyone is genuinely interested in buying, and on a realistic timescale, please get in contact.

Yup, the convincing case put forward made me realise the error I made in valuation. Hopefully everyone out there will think about what price they put on items and service for sale, and reconfigure appropriately.

You mean to say jan/feb isn't realistic? xD

Given the market it might be!

I've had a good time with the car, but just time to move on - if I can do it within a month I'll be happy.

I do however want someone who is in a genuine position to buy to come and have a look, chat with me, and do a deal - just do long they remember:

1. I'm not an idiot (even given me asking Christian where he was going to put his door cards - the answer was "on the doors").

2. I don't have to sell - need is different from want.

3. I'm a real person who can answer a phone (although not knowing where door cards go would suggest otherwise). Rather than endless emails or pms, please just give me a call or come over - it's easier for both of us.

To confirm a few pm's I've had, car is still for sale. I was working Sat then at Brands on Sunday so not had a chance to re-advertise. Have a couple of viewings set over the weekend, so if you are interested would recommend getting in contact sooner rather than later.

Thanks Ken. I hope it goes through fine too, I'm waiting for the plate to come off and the buyer is waiting for his birthday - timing hopefully works out well. Am surprisingly gutted about the car going - safe in the knowledge it'll probably be the fastest and most capable car I'll ever own, and it's what I spent 3+ years desperately wanting. Also have missed out on two perfect replacements and a third excellent starter project finishes on ebay today (and is local). Hoping in a couple of weeks we're settled and a log booked Clio 182 package with lightweight trailer will pop up! That would make me feel a lot better.
