    REALLY??

The original price of £125 was for a complete unit! I told him he could keep that & do what he wanted with it. I think he has seen the retail price of these and decided that £125-165 is too cheap. Iss he honouring the original price for those on back order?

UKLC profiteering? Surely not... they'd never do that... based on their previous reputation.

I paid for mine yesterday and they said they would send it for delivery today. The plan was for them to split the Elise unit, me to send back my VX controller, then they could add the VX unit to the elise pump. (So they would go from a full Elise unit to a full VX unit).

They phoned this morning to say that this wasn't going to happen. Not sure about any other orders though..

He must of worked out he has been selling these units for half what there worth second hand. Those who got it at the price stated got a real bargain, with the sudden intrest in his units I think the price just shot up. Let's hope he doesn't fit the VX units to the pumps and sell them on as Elise ones lol.

Do we have a contact name at Dick Lovett Swindon who is aware of what we are after? They're not a million miles from me and I quite like the sound of a turnkey solution. Thanks Nick

Ok - but how many do we now have?

There was a lot of interest depending on price - as we've got a price - how many of these are still interested?

ok, update on price, i recieved this from lovetts yesterday:

Morning Nigel

Thanks for your e-mail.

£358.20 + vat is exactly £20% off the Lotus retail price. I would go to £350 + vat per unit.

We can not supply these units pre-coded as we do not have any Lotus Elise on site currently, and if we did get 1 in it would be a customer’s car.

Getting the units coded by a local Dick Lovett dealer would also cause problems as there is only 1 Dick Lovett Lotus and 1 Lotus tool and they are both in Swindon.

However, any Lotus dealer should be more than happy to code these units in for a similar price to the one we have coded.

Lastly, supply and coding the units in for the £358.20 + vat would leave us with no profit what so ever and would therefore not be an option.

Hopefully, that all make sense.

Cheers

Alan

thats gonna be £10 cheaper than deroure(i think)

so, there you have the final price for a new unit needing coding, and where to get it coded. shall we start a list....
1
2
3
4
5

we'll start with 5 and if those places dont get taken then its a washout :angry2:

*** Just for anyone fitting an already coded ABS unit *** When you fit it and check it with 'ignition on' the ABS light will be 'on' - if you do what I did and re-fit the old 2 channel unit the light will go out... A quick call to DG later and re-fitted the 4 channel unit, ABS light still 'on', but give it a quick drive down the road and the ABS unit will receive data form all 4 wheel sensors and when its happy will now turn the ABS light off! :D Took all of about 15 meters...!!!

I was being hopeful when I made the order and as he has it in his hands I thought it might come off, however when I read about being on a return basis I then had my doubts,

Indeed, didn't seem to be worth the chance to me.

Incidentally, I might have a contact at Lotus that can get these to me direct.
