Doubt you will get a 'new' unit unlocked for less than £450 IMHO. I can confirm though that once unlocked its free to be used as many times as you want. My second hand exige unit has been on two other VX's before mine and can report no problems.

Jasvxt used to be able to get them for £300 a couple of years ago, if you can't get a good price I'll text him and see if he's still got his source.

Is there any chance we can get this group buy from a lotus dealer with them all set up and ready to go? If so, I'm up for one too.

I don't want to have to fanny around finding a dealer to press a couple of buttons on a laptop...

I think that is what Matt (FLD) is trying to arrange with his contact (can't think who that might be ;) - if it is then he likes his holidays)

Just heard back......

"Sorry had to wait for the geezer at the factory to come in.
Can do the Exige A.B.S units (as previously supplied) @ £349.00 + £7.95 p&p
+ vat = £399.54
The retail is £434 +post + vat (£530)so it's a very good saving
"

So, that's a unit that needs to be unlocked for £400 posted basically?

No worries, just after clarification as I'm heading to Lotus next week and can ask for a price on ABS reset. Cheers

Which Lotus!?
No-one will even talk to me about this modification, let alone attach a piece of Lotus equipment to it...

I found them very helpful and polite (they even phoned Lotus Customer Care..and then phoned me back) but the guy there at the time confirmed you can't stick a lotus part in a VX like that. I'l be interested to know if you get further than me with them as they are my nearest Lotus as well.

I spoke to Silverstone Lotus a couple of years ago and whilst they said they didn't know whether it would work, they'd happily hook the VX up to their diagnostics machine and see whether it would talk to a retrofitted Lotus ABS ECU. I guess it just depends on who you talk to.

Yer i know, it does seem that way.
I think people are less open minded over the phone.
I reckon i'd have more luck if i drove in.

I'll take the S2 down to them then and they might have more answers for me than if I showed up in the VX!

I've been there a couple of times in the SC'd VX as I've had a couple of trackday/testdrives with them and they're always fascinated by the conversion on the VX. Especially when I took their Exige Cup 260 out around Silverstone and came back in and immediately said the VX was faster. Hmmm, now I think about it, I haven't had any more invites, since.

Just spoke to someone on the phone about the unit. She said that apparently they can't do it while it's IN a vx... but that they might be able to when it's in a Lotus and then I just take it out, for instance. No faffing needed with this right? Just ignition off and take it out? Or does it require battery disconnect?

Lotus says no. Guglielmi says no. Thorney says.. maybe at a cost of £75.
