I'd be interested in one too, price dependent of course.

Ages ago I looked into 2nd hand from lotus breakers and one I found was£190 but looking at another on weds who is fitting one for me n it's cheaper than that! Will ask while I'm there how many more they have or if they can get hold of more or get them new at trade price. I mailed a vaux dealer bout vxr part and they said £640 new! So,it all depends on how much you wanna fork out at the end of the day. The big advantage of 2nd hand is that it won't need activating,it'll be good to go,after bleeding the system.

Is the 4 channel unit generic to other Vauxhalls / GM cars? Be great if it was from a common Vectra ect that would really open up availability and bring costings down to reasonable levels.

I would've thought not, as it's all to do with having different sized wheels front and back and that's something that lotus have sorted as they come like that as standard as do the vxr220 which is why it uses the same lotus unit.

Then I could well be wrong and an astra gl unit might do the trick but most threads on here point to the lotus unit being the only propper fix, apart from a bodge extra vacuum unit for the servo.

No need to bleed anything. It's a straight swap and is external to the hydraulic system.

10 minutes max. Disconnect wiring plug from the side of the existing unit. Unscrew the three or four torx screws that hold the "brain" on top of the ABS pump and remove. Fit the new brain in it's place, refit screws and wiring plug and drive away.

make sure you check serial numbers before fitting as sounds a bit odd they dont know its a simple swap if lotus shop.

You just need the black plastic electronic controller unit that sits on top of the ABS actuator. Looks like this (and part 3 in the diagram)

The actual alloy actuator unit (part 2 in this picture) is not needed as it's identical between all of the VX/Elise/Exige variants.

Nope, that's the standard sh!tty VX 2 channel version. The Exige one has the part number S108196012, instead of the S108196009. That's the only visible difference between them. thumbsup
