Chuff all apart from some different coding in the ECU inside the unit, I suspect. Think the Borgman was going to dismantle one and see what he could find.

    REALLY??

You just need the black plastic electronic controller unit that sits on top of the ABS actuator. Looks like this (and part 3 in the diagram)

The actual alloy actuator unit (part 2 in this picture) is not needed as it's identical between all of the VX/Elise/Exige variants.

so, now im very confused.com :tumble:

to stop my dead pedal and have brakes as and when i need them, do i need just the control unit, or both control and actuator?
i thought it was the 4 channel unit, thats what ive been asking for, so i assume thats the bit with all the brake pipes coming out of it?? hence why they sed itd need bleeding....? so maybe im asking them for the wrong part?? so i better find out what bit i need and make sure they have that...

I'm interested price dependent and also if it can be activated before it's delivered. To do that in Switzerland would be a pain and expensive.

Is the 4 channel unit generic to other Vauxhalls / GM cars?

Be great if it was from a common Vectra ect that would really open up availability and bring costings down to reasonable levels.

I have been looking but haven't found one yet, but I am getting very confused with the part no.s . Some have A prefix some S some units both etc. probably safer to get official new ones.
I don't have any major issue with the standard unit though as still on original wheel sizes and don't ask too much of it.

certain early vectra B's had the same type abs unit, but it would need testing to be sure it worked fine on the lighter vx220

thats the wrong abs unit, like I posted above only certain early veccy B's had the same unit. Quite rare and possibly only fitted to the sri or cdx.

edit: this might be the same type as the vx220, but can't see the connector

Would it be safe to presume that the unit in the Vectra would be the same as the unit we have and not the same as the "better" VXR unit?

Not all second hand units are plug and play. I've had two people knock on my door recently asking to try op-com to reset them. Only the lotus lead does it. Seems to be hit n miss but I'd be interested in a secondhand unit if the price is right.

I have found one with the exact same part no.s as above.
Anyone know what is involved in testing it.?
Edit,
haven't collected it as yet.
