    REALLY??

ok, a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.... just got off the phone from the guy and he said to come up in tomorrow mornin and will sort it out, so hopefully if he's not got a correct part number unit there then will get a refund......... hopefully. he may redeem himself yet!!

ok, wrong part off......... right part on ............ result!! :) he may have a few more, just make sure he checks the part number, from what i can gather from this site http://deroure.com/s...8&ST=A120J6004S the official lotus part number is A120J6004S but still has the S1081960012 number on it too, should come off any 04 onwards elise/exige .

as for the group buy i had this off Dick Lovett yesterday
Hi Nigel

The part number A120J6004S is still a good number. They are £537.30 inc vat each from Lotus.

Currently they are showing just 6 in stock. I would be happy to supply a quantity of 5 or 10 at a special price of £435 inc vat each.

In terms of tooling, we did this job on a VX220 less than 12 months ago so I am happy we have got the tools for the job, but I will double check shortly.

The labour involved in this should be no more than ½ an hour, which would equate to £45 inc vat per car.

I will speak to my contact at the Lotus factory and find out if they have any more control units due to arrive or if the 6 they have are the last.

Cheers

he has confirmed today that lotus have more if needed.
i have just mailed DeRoure ltd as their price off the shelf is £447.75 will await their reply.

Dumfunk, could you give a bit of a review on how it's changed the braking? The problems I had with the ABS, for the small amount of time I drove with it on, was that it kicked in very early and it didn't seem to stop the car anywhere near as well as cadence braking or even skidding. Did the Elise ABS unit fix the problems?

It totally fixes the "ice mode" problem where it kicks in too early, or more often when you're braking on a lumpy surface. It also mostly (like 99%) solves the hard pedal problem.

I thought the hard pedal is by design to lockout the rear caliper pistons as part of its EBD system, pressing harder directly against the pedal just increases brake line pressure to the front calipers.

Thanks Techieboy thumbsup From what I've worked out the difference in static rolling radius between the standard VX220 wheels with 195/45 tyres against the Lotus set-up with 195/50 as Lotus recommends is only 5mm with with the dynamic radius even less at 3mm so I'm guessing the new ABS unit will work fine with standard VX rims.

I phoned them an hour ago and they're doing it for £125 plus VAT. Edit: Just bought one for £162.00 which included delivery and VAT, tried to get it for £150 delivered but he had none of it! Gave the man the parts number and he said he'd check before sending it all out

I haven't got mine yet to confirm, but naturally after reading this thread, I made it clear it was the Elise ECU I wanted and gave him both the A120J6004S and S1081960012 number which he said he would double check before sending. I think the £125 is only if it is a cash sale, if you pay by card then you have to pay VAT.

Well, when it arrives, please update.
If yours is correct I might take a punt...

yes, yes, yes, yes.

It's only when new that most need a new handshake (or whatever it's called) with the ecu using a lotus tech II.

ok, update from deroure: Hi Nigel, My cost on these are £358.20 + VAT so I'd be prepared to sell them at cost price to you if you can get some good word out on the forum and then hopefully I can make on repeat orders and over the long term. Let me know if this helps? Best Regards, Keith DeRoure Ltd Driving Lotus Parts Forward will see if lovetts will do their price including the diagnostic activation....... for those of you who jumped on uklotuscentre well done. for an update on fixing the problems.... my problems were intermitent, hard pedal when you dont want it..... ice mode when braking on rough ground and then abs light coming on after ice mode..... no matter how hard i have tried with all 3 units i cant induce the faults....... so will have to suck it and see, but feels better, more sude footed when braking.. how many do we have now that still need a unit, and who are interested in the prices so far?

Glad to see you got it sorted thumbsup I'm happy with Dick Lovett at £480 (or hopefully even better ;)) for a 'drive in - drive away' fitted service. But like I said you can add me as a 'definite' for this at the quoted price already. Many thanks again for all your hard work here! Imnotworthy

A member on here has offered me their 4 channel ABS module, and so I PM'd Dumfunk for his consent to leave this group buy which he's all fine with so I'm now out. Cheers Simon
