cool,thanx guys, will need a set of torx sockets now, more expense :angry2:

and now the little light in the headlight switch has blown, and i bet the switches dont come off from the front so half the dash will need removing... ? :unsure:

I had the same problem with my VXT years ago and I removed the coil pack and as suggested on here (when i had my problem) was put the coil pack on a radiator or in a airing cupboard to check its dry and that worked a treat. never a problem again...

Had my coil pack off and found the rubbers had a varnish type build up of muck round them at the bottom and the springs inside were a little rusty or dirty on the ends that conntact the plugs and slightly at the pack contact end pushed the springs out and cleaned the lot with WD 40,cleaned up the rubbers with the same and all ok.
