I find videos like this really sad, I hate seeing nice cars get hit, especially when one driver is not to fault! really puts me off track driving in the VX.

That's why i want a track dog! Cio 182

Of course there's never thousands more accidents on the road every day, as a result of people driving beyond their capabilities encountering diesel, is there?

People that have a so called "track dog" probably puts you (and therefore me) at a greater risk than anything else.

I knew this was coming... lol yeah i agree of course there's loads more accidents caused by people driving too hard on public roads it goes without saying! What i mean is i'd hate to damage the VX because the parts are so expensive to replace. I wouldn't change my driving style because i was in a "dog" but if the worst did ever happen it would be cheap to repair. That's what i was getting at.

Have to say that's why I stopped tracking my old Saab 900 Turbo - it was my pride and joy - and bought a cheap Saab 9000 with a couple of mates, purely to be used as a track car. Reason being more mechanical failure than anything else; if it broke on a saturday none of us needed it to get to work on a Monday! And because it only owed us around £250 each to start off with (in the end I reckon it owed us each much less than £1000) there were certainly less worries about binning it. I wouldn't say that made us all the more dangerous to other drivers on the circuit, regardless of what they were driving, as whatever the cost we always wanted to keep it out of the armco or someone else's door panel. We did however spend a lot of time at Castle Combe, as part of a bigger Saab group, at the Action days, where the driving standards are appalling - plenty of the abogve clips clearly shot there - so risk was already high IMHO. I now track the VX, but due to its fragile bodywork and (for me) high monetary value I wouldn't do so without track insurance. For me that's the only answer. G
