How new is the air filter? Any dirt in that will make things worse as is a further restriction.

When turbo spools up, it sucks air in. That pipe has an air filter on the end so is restricted. This creates a vaccuum and the pipe gets sucked in on itself, cutting off air and killing engine.

Try squeezing the pipe when it's all hot, if it's really soft then chances are it is at least partially collapsing.

Cheers mate makes sense. Didnt know there was a filter on the end of the pipe... unless your meaning the airbox? If not can you take the filter off to see if its full of crap?

Also I was not aware of any gear sensor that fed back to the ECU - so the ECU has no way of knowing what gear you are in and therefore cannot alter the map.

Checked recently for error codes?

Got nothing to check for codes but its been like this since i've bought it and i've done checks on it since then and nothing. Car just feels like a non turbo, at stage 2 would you have a lot of torque normaly? Sometimes it will feel flat in 3rd but the odd time it will pull harder

I've got shed loads of torque at stage 2.

I;m leaving work so no time to search, but £20-30 will get you an OBD reader. Worth it's weight in gold.

http://www.amazon.co...0/dp/B001KSY3MC

Probably don't buy that one, but have a browse on amazon / ebay.

Put it this way, unless it sounds about right. A corsa with a VXR engine in it (not sure what stage it has) but guessing stage 2/3 could keep up with me from a standing start untill about 100 and he passed me

Please dont winge. I had a play with this corsa and that was the outcome, its the only way i can explain how slow the car is... unless thats how slow the car is meant to be at stage 2, then thats fine. Just trying to find the problem

Maybe you should have some kind of a poll / survey then, amongst all the other VX owners who race Corsa's from 0 to 100mph.

I mean im not boasting about racing or anything im just trying to compare to show how the car is slow. I mean a corsa with a vxr engine stage 2/3 with 280/300bhp will be fast and maybe be about the same as the VXT stage 2 but not 0 - 60? Im just amazed he could keep up 0 - 60. I remembered doing a 0 - 60 test run with my mates program that plugs into the ECU and it read 5.8 seconds !!

I dont care if anyone else "races" corsas 0 - 100 im not wanting to talk about racing or anything im just trying to explain how slow my car seems to be. Is that ok?

How about a video of you vs the Corsa, showing the speedometer, going past the 'private road' sign.

Mate, even if it was proved to be on a "private road" you would still winge. Like i said i dont want to talk about the "race" i just wanted to explain how the car is performing. Just like if i said the "race" was actually on a private road which is true, you wouldnt believe me and still winge. The private road is next to my dads golf range... it is a long long road which he was going to use as a car park... can we get back to what the problem could be?

If you're heat shield is ripped and not properly shielding the intake pipe the plastic pipe is probably softening a bit as well which will aid to it collapsing.

If the pipe is collapsing what you need is this here

Cheers, i'll drive for a while and see if the pipe is really soft and if so i'll buy one of those. Would this be giving crap performance 0 - 60 too though?

When driving from A to B, is proving who has the fastest car the only thing that matters?
