hi everyone my cars just decided after being parked for 4 days to not respond to the key fob, thinking the battery is flat i picked the door open and the siren went off, tried to stop it on the key fob but no go, wouldnt start either so i put jump leads on it with the siren still going, starts, runs but still wont stop blaring out and still cant stop it on the fob. any idea whats going on? p

Fob battery? You could disconnect the siren throught the pass headlamp as a quick fix.

tried all 3 fobs but their all doing the same, i'll charge the car battery later but seeing as it wasnt completely flat i cant see it being that? if i disconnect the alarm siren will that affect the immobiliser?

Nah, should be fine. Might be the reciever part but best try a full charge first. It can be quite odd with a flat battery.

Thats your code card so you can program in new fobs and keys. I'm not sure about repairing the immobiliser / alarm as I've not had to do it yet. I have had a flat battery and the siren blaring in my ear hence knowing you can unplug it!

Had to remove the siren, charged the battery but now the car turns over like a goodun but won't fire up? The flashers are going as if the alarm is going, might I have a faulty alarm? Where is it? Was bloody hoping to take it to work tomorrow :(

Op-com or tech2 will program in keys / fobs. The alarm control units do fail periodically. I think the best place is direct from the manufacturer. Have a search on that one.

It's much easier to fit a new/Recon alarm from Abacus than to try and plumb in another system. The new/recon units aren't even affected by wireless doorbells :)

I reconnected my new battery today and the alarm remote is doing nothing at all :( When I disconnect the battery the alarm goes off and I cannot stop it until it decides to give in after a few minutes. I suspect my fobs will need to be recoded to the alarm, from the OP-COM literature I understand that I can do it using that, is that correct? Soon I will need to pair a VXT ECU with my immobiliser, again it looks as though I can do this with the OP-COM? I was going to pay £50 and send off the ECU to be recoded but if I can do it myself then all the better.
