Spuk - how the hell do you race like that??? Could never use the right stick for accel/brake!

That said having a pressure sensitive clutch would be cool but does it help? Even with clutch on you can still just floor the accelerator at the start.

VXBoyd - you're right, clutch makes a massive difference, and it's much easier to use with it mapped to A. Don't think I have enough spare brain power to use it on anything other than drag racing though!

Certain things about it and starting to annoy me ever so slightly.

Like the fact that the auction house is still a little clunky, and collecting your credits is a pain.
Also the little animation where you roll up to the start line and rev your engine a few times is starting to really hack me off!

It did take a lot of getting used to, especially when I got into a bit of a mess I tended to slam the left trigger on thinking it was the brake and obviously not slowing down!

The analog clutch in fairness does not benefit all that often, not more than the A button would. I just prefer the extra level of control for pulling off. Cars with ridiculous turbo spool (Ford RS200 springs to mind) are much better for pulling off because I tend to find I either wheelspin like mad or stall and everyone overtakes me. With the trigger clutch you can half pull it and ride the clutch until it's moving a bit.

Agreed on the start line animation! I wouldn't mind it if you could at least see your rev counter but it doesn't show up until there is a bout 0.5s before starting, so trying to get your revs right for the launch is very difficult!

Yeah that's why it grates on me as well. Also the idea of a pro race driver pulling up to his line and revving the engine like a chav in a car park is ridiculous. But perhaps I'm reading too much into it...

Another thing that irritates me is the lack of any kind of meaningful tyre wear. I don't necessarily want to have F1 levels of tyre wear and pit strategy, but it would be nice if there was a need to drive through the pits at least once in the game.
I'm sure in Forza 2 if you just did a big burn out the tyres would blow very quickly. In Forza 4 with simulation damage I'm yet to manage to get them to go.

But you want to know what irritates me the most?

My f*****g b*****d piece of s**t a******e xbox live account has been hacked again by some dirty little cretinous ***t who was used all my point to buy FIFA trading cards. AGAIN.

So now I have a 28 days period with my account being locked by the fraud team, at the end of which I may or may not get my points back. Raging.

No idea. Apparently spy ware on your comp (I checked), putting your email/password into a dodgy website or achievment farming site (I'm not that stupid) or "social manipulation" where they find out something (your password or email) and then trick you into revealing the other half. But according to the guy from Microsoft because it's been hacked once all they needed this time was the password, and apparently that can be hacked, rather than tricking me into revealing it. So the recommendation is that when it comes back online, set up a whole new Windows Live ID, that I use only for XBox, and then migrate it to that, and close the old one. Bloody FIFA... Is a real pain in the arse though.

Still massively prefer it to Forza 3 even though it's very very similar.

:yeahthat:

Spuk - your times are incredible.

I'm not too bad, but it looks like I'm awesome because I did absolutely every rival challenge I could so you will always see my name as a competitor! :P

The real speed demon is VX Boyd though rallly  . Not a chance of keeping up with you on some of those rivals!

:tt: I need to get round to doing all the rivals, I think I've only fully completed one maybe two sets of the rivals - I refuse to pay for the DLC so won't ever be able to do the monthlys though and I much prefer the events where everyone has the same car - I'm dreadful at drifitng though.
I came close to blitzing my Nordschleife time in the Radical but came off a few bends from the final straight :angry2: - and haven't played it since!
I'm going to try and session all this evening on it if any club members are around.
I'll have to have a look at VX220NA's designs, love the paint editor but can't find the time to recreate any of my past masterpieces - and my forza 3 game appears to have corrupted so I've lost loads of designs :(

Top tip - all about manual with cluch - just change clutch to the A button and you can press it with your thumb as you shift up/down on the B/X buttons.

You will have to keep trying as I just beat you :)

Not only did I beat you, I beat you on my opening lap from standstill, caught you up and overtook.

Theres about 3 places you drop your speed and you dont need. If you race my ghost you will clearly see where your losing time.

Challenge accepted. That is one hell of an effort to break the top 1000 from a standing start - meaning your tyres were cold for the first few corners too. There's definitely a few places I can go quicker but so many places where the line between a good corner and a spin out is so fine, especially in that radical and its so frustrating voiding your time around that monster of a track.

Yeah it is hard, I dont seem to be able to go round the carousel like you do tho! You speed round it. Might give it a try with a full speed lap, should knock about 5 secs off.

Yeah, twice no less!

Suggest you all check your passwords are safe etc and youre secret question thing isn't ridiculously easy to guess.

Of course it's just as I post my record breaking time round the Nurburgring that now can't be uploaded, but you all trust me right?
