It did take a lot of getting used to, especially when I got into a bit of a mess I tended to slam the left trigger on thinking it was the brake and obviously not slowing down!Spuk - how the hell do you race like that??? Could never use the right stick for accel/brake!
That said having a pressure sensitive clutch would be cool but does it help? Even with clutch on you can still just floor the accelerator at the start.
VXBoyd - you're right, clutch makes a massive difference, and it's much easier to use with it mapped to A. Don't think I have enough spare brain power to use it on anything other than drag racing though!
Certain things about it and starting to annoy me ever so slightly.
Like the fact that the auction house is still a little clunky, and collecting your credits is a pain.
Also the little animation where you roll up to the start line and rev your engine a few times is starting to really hack me off!
The analog clutch in fairness does not benefit all that often, not more than the A button would. I just prefer the extra level of control for pulling off. Cars with ridiculous turbo spool (Ford RS200 springs to mind) are much better for pulling off because I tend to find I either wheelspin like mad or stall and everyone overtakes me. With the trigger clutch you can half pull it and ride the clutch until it's moving a bit.
Agreed on the start line animation! I wouldn't mind it if you could at least see your rev counter but it doesn't show up until there is a bout 0.5s before starting, so trying to get your revs right for the launch is very difficult!
