I'm looking to fit a bigger throttle body and tophat on the Vx. Anyhow i hav'nt got the tophat yet but whacked the body on today and couldnt get the thing to rev at all. Do you have to remap straight away or am i missing summat. Put my old one back on and spot on again. Dont know if it matters but i'm on EDS.

I expect the PCM is throwing a hissy fit because you have changed the quantity of air flowing through the TB for a given opening angle. so yes a recalibration is needed

With the top hat, I'm assuming it's a turbo as the NA doesn't have one. What is the larger throttle body from? Are you sure it's even compatible from a wiring sense, let alone the ECU map?

If your car is a VXT then you simply don't need a larger TB until you are pushing at least 260 BHP. As it is fly-by-wire operated, as Tehieboy says, you can't just simply replace it with any old TB, the new TB would have to have exctly the same plug. I had my OEM TB machined out from 57mm to 62mm. If you are still interested I can get it done for you for £200. What other mods do you have on your car incidentally and what power is making ATM?

Joe is that a direct replacement which will fit both the inlet manifold (ie same 4 bolt pattern + position) and the existing 5 pin plug on the OEM loom? If so, what car/part number is it from please as this is big news for VXT owners.

I am guessing, but is it an GM American V8 one? Like from an LSx engine ?

Na it's a Porsche one I will dig the part number out for you. If you can send me a template of the bolt holes I can measure it for you however I very much doubt it fits without a adaptor plate

It's a turbo car and the body is a machined item from the leh. Power should be atleast 280 now. Just looking to get a high flow top hat to go with the tb,3 inch exhaust then get remapped.
