I'm having no joy with this, Im very daft when it comes to computers too. I have read previous threads about not using the disc supplied so I have been on to the wiki page to download the software. But I can't find anything to download here, I've extracted the files and they are now on my desktop. Just can't seem to download anything! Am I missing something? Lol Thanks

You may need to atually run the file now, if you have downloaded and extracted the file to your desktop, you may now see an icon that ends .exe, if so double click and this will run the file and install the software. If that doesn't work just go for a drive or enjoy a beer or two chinky chinky

I couldn't get the cracked software to run on my windows 7 laptop but it was fine on my old XP one, the problem was with the drivers being unsigned I think and as the new laptop is still under warranty I didn't want to mess about with anything that may mess it up so I just stuck it on the old T23 ThinkPad (it's more robust than modern laptops anyway). Once you have installed the drivers for the interface then all you have to do is follow the instructions (doulble click the opcom logo in the file you have downloaded to start it after the drivers are in), it's straight forward after that. thumbsup

Simple fix for this is to press F8 on boot-up and *disable driver signature enforcement*

That will allow you to intall the drivers. (That are included in the download link from my previous post)
Seem to have been a few people struggleing with this. So hope it helps.

I've had an OPCOM reader I bought off ebay ages ago. Just tried to use it, and it's asking me to send my computer id to info@vezeriagnosztika.hu for a first use validation code to be sent to me. Fed up with this. Does anyone have a genuine, honest to goodness, working link to the OPCOM software I need!

This version worked when I installed it. I've since downloaded and installed a newer version from somewhere and that worked fine as well.

Ok also just lost a part of my life on the opcom stuff

Mostly a driver problem.

Laptop is a win7 32 bits starter.

Every cable i tried will only register as standard usb to serial device (the one that came form ebay with the tech 2 package, and a generic 327 cable)

Tried a bundle of drivers, but none specificly registered as an "opcom" device in any way or form.

Then of course opcom (software from the wiki page) and opcom pro have difficulty finding the cable, saying plug in or install usb driver.

Can someone start their laptop, and tell me with what name the usb device has registered in their device manager correctly?

tips appreciated.

I could not get Opcom to recognise any of my cables, it must be looking for a specific device

I'll stick to my scangauge and multimeter for future issues..

I have given up on it too. I wanted a second key programming. I managed to get an ebay one and then got it cut for a fiver. It semi works as in it may turn in the ignition first time or I may have to fiddle for 5 minutes pushing prodding and twisting before it turns (I will get my file out to smooth out the edges)

I bought a bluetooth dongle which works great with Android torque pro but would not work with Opcom. I bought a USB cabled one on Ebay but despite trying two different laptops with Win 7 and XP it does not recognise it saying load the drivers when I already have.

Oh well at least I have a copy of the key should I lose the main one.

I've just bought an op-com from ebay - £15 jobbie. This is what I did and it worked fine. Put CD in and install the software to my crunky old laptop (windows 7). The cd came with a note saying that anti virus software may throw up a warning which I should ignore (which I did). With the software installed, plugged the reader into the car and the other end into the laptop. Nothing worked until I switched the ignition on (but not started the engine). Then, the diagnostics tool kicked in immediately. I've had the abs light came on this diagnosed which hub was at fault immediately. HTH

Would a scangauge work? It doesn't say what the code error fault means but you can look the code on Google to tell the fault meaning. Scangauges are a bit pricey though but are dead simple to use, no fannying with a computer. Does an opcom do a lot more specialist things than a scangauge?
