Would a scangauge work? It doesn't say what the code error fault means but you can look the code on Google to tell the fault meaning. Scangauges are a bit pricey though but are dead simple to use, no fannying with a computer. Does an opcom do a lot more specialist things than a scangauge?

Scan gauge is only like a cheap eBay code reader only with lots of other toys but it won't talk to abs or airbag Ecu so you need op com

Without starting another opcom thread...
Finally managed to download the software and when plugging the interface in and testing it things seem to be OK. Then when I go through the options to the engine sections I get this message.

Everything seems to be connected OK and the ignition is on.

As written in that screen, you need to install the special Opcon USB drivers for it to work.

I've tried to install the FTDI drivers, with driver signature management disabled , this morning on win 10 and getting no where with it.

seems a lot use the ftdi usb serial converter device , v2.8.30 , I just tried the 2016 latest one from the site but still get a code 10 , even when logged in the DSM turned off.

I can only assume the brick needs to be attached to the obdii port while doing all this

I think I must have one of these bad ones with bad firmware installed , as it just does not recognise it as ftdi device

really annoying as I need to see why the airbag light is on
