Nev thanks I checked the clamp bolts on the UJ's they seemed tight could not feel any play. Also could not feel any play in the hardy Spicer joint itself. I'm thinking the worst and it may be a new rack....

Does checking means you tried tightening then up?

Well yes that's the usual!

Had another car day today fitted new cabin seals front and rear. Stripped door panels again to fish out the window adjusters that I screwed in too far and they fell off!! Lets hope they stop the water leaks now! Also fitted replacement Lamdas (Not LAMA's!) Cheers Rally this fixed the EML light. However I now have a Airbag light on to replace it! (ScanGuage does no recognise there is a fault  )

Right back from the days hoon - Things to fix:

  • Knocking from steering column wobbling left and right getting a clocking each way (Hoping it just needs to be tightened!)

Well checked the UJ's top and bottom they where both tight and the 13mm and 17mm which hold the rack to the chassis, tight also... Looks like there may be play in the rack :( unless its' in the hardy spicer joints??

Any thoughts?

Plastic cap ends?

Ooooh didn't check those!!! what do they hold on?

Jimmy's your man for checking and replacing them :)

The YouTube video was probably mine from years ago, it went away for refurb but still came back with the same noise, Titan who refurbed it assured me it was OK and it has been, very annoying though.

it's one which isn't used for anything  if you look into the chassis section from the drivers wheel arch it's quite obvious which one it is - it is directly in front of the steering box

not sure which rivnut it is from below the servo, normal method of removal is a long screw driver and a hammer from the wheel arch
