Just checked and mine are BZP not stainless. It's not going going to be a high mileage car so not bothered.

It's not just the lower tensile strength they weaken in certain environments salt is bad for this.
I just don't know why you would fit something that starts off about 15% weaker and then decreases in strength much quicker than the original bolts? They may well be fine but rather you than me!

Ah you worry too much :)

Looks really good thumbsup Was going to ask if the damping adjuster was meant to be at the bottom of the shock body, but seeing the 'GAZ" logo's correct and not upside down realise it is! :)

Looks great. Wish I had got mine powder coated. Rust is showing through the paint I put on mine a few years ago. I am sure yours will be looking good for much longer.

Did the final parts back on and did a string line geo set up so the wheels actually pointed in the right direction enough to get to BoT.

Well been a long time since I've udated this project. The Fella's at BoT did a great job on the set-up but not had a chance to use it since as it's been on Sorn since December. Hoping to get it back on the road for April and give it a good shakedown Next job (Started today but failed to finish) is to remove the steering wheel boss and replace the Slip Ring/Airbag Squib. Got as far as removing the s/wheel and loosening off the main boss nut but the steering wheel is on the shatf really tight. (No amount of walloping has loosened it. (Anyone got a bearing puller that I can borrow or any suggestions that doesn't involve a broken nose when the wheel finally comes off?

Finally got around to looking at the AIRBAG light problem on the VX220 - So after a trip to see LeeVX2.2 for the loan of a bearing puller (Cheers Buddy!) I set to work on removing the steering wheel boss so I could replace the airbag slip ring.

The wheel released itself with ease with the correct tools (I remembered not to take the nut completly off as so not to get a face full of wheel and also marked the position so know what spline to line up with on re-fit.)

Here are a few pics of the progress:

Boss removed (Note the preload spring that catapults the wheel if not secured!)

Then a quick fumble with the laptop and OPCOM and Hurrah!! No Airbag light! Yes I know the ABS light is on but that's by design.
