Today's job was to fit new gearbox mounts thought this was going to be a pig of a job but turned out was a doddle. Just need to take your time and have a jack under gearbox.

Here's the knackered mounts didn't realise they were this bad.

Quick uptate...... (although not a happy one)

So some of you may have read my other thread about blowing up my engine.... if not here's the low down.

I had a alloy cam cover media blasted and powercoated. Looked great! However is seems like I didn't get all the sand out of the baffles... Which in turn has now found it's way around my engine and buggered the oil pump and in turn has seized my engine.. Silly mistake and one I should of thought of.... BIG LESSON LEARNED!

All is not lost though, as I have a B207 waiting to  go in just means that install has been brought fwd a few months and will now not be having a lightened flywheel and superchager will have to wait... :(

So not it's all hands on deck this weekend to get the old lump out and the shiney new one in..

I desperately want to get this done as due to god to Croft. rallly

The lightweight flywheel dose make a difference but has its down sides. If you do a balance delete you will get more of the benefits and less downsides. So it is a sensible item to loose if making cost savings.

So decided to a CS lightened flywheel but won't be here until Monday which sucks a bit as wanted engine in this weekend. Still have lots to do and can get everything just right with rushing. Unless anyone has a spare CS lightened flywheel kicking about I can swap with my one when it turns up Monday.

Update time:

Got engine and gearbox out today not split it yet that's tomorrow job. Along with some other stuff.

Couple of things I want to do while I have some time waiting for my flywheel.

1. Move ECU (Can someone point me to a how to or give me some advice)

2. Sort out the carbon canister pipework (any downside to doing this?) Also any how to?

3. Remove the Headrest lumps of metal behind the seats.

4. Clean up engine bay and general clean up of parts to re-fit.

Big pile of vx bits

If your thinking of moving ECU in prep for SC you will need to extend the loom, injector plugs and maybe a few other wires I put mine at the passenger side of the oil filter but but I think joe and lee move it further to the left as you look at the car from the rear

Engine now out and gearbox is off. Tripped off all the parts I need to swap over and have cleaned up most parts ready for installation.

Next thinks on the list

Clean Gearbox and fit new salve cylinder

Once Flywheel turns up need to build up with clutch and fit to engine.

Clean Engine bay

Decide whether or not to move ECU ready for Supercharging at a later date.

Decide what to do with carbon canister and pipework.

Load more apart from this I'm sure

Strange that they make that EGRs out of what looks like pure iron. So rusty! I thought about the charcoal filter while I had the rear clam off then didnt do anything. At a guess it would work by removing the pipe from the vent valve and blocking it off so when that "vents" it just does nothing. Then remove the canister and excess pipes then with the breather from the tank fit a rollover valve. Then feed the pipe down and out the undertray, somewhere safe away from heat. The nobles points out just infront of the rear wheel. This is the valve I have on the noble, it replaced a fiesta part which was similar in size but prone to sticking. https://www.merlinmo...on-tails-m-trl7

Fast road clutch cover from CS didn't fit new flywheel 3 of the holes where too small for the studs to fit through had to get the drill out and enlarge the cover holes. (Bit sloppy from CS seeing how much it cost! )

Mines done, downside is a fuel smell.
