I'm not going to paint the part the lenses are going to bond to.. Anyone got a link to some activator that is suitable. I was going to clean up with some acetone free solvent cleaner mate uses on PVCu Windows.

Amazon link Since it's plastic you'll be using it on I'd test it in a small spot first to see how it reacts, but it should be fine.

Eliseparts sell this sticky stiff which is is like a thick electrical tape and thats what haggi used with great results. After having 2 rear lights come apart using tigerseal im going to try this.. Plus.. Its not nasty and doesnt make a mess.

Yes butyl tape. I researched all options before fitting my replacement lens and this is by far the best option. Offers a bit of flex, it's thick so will ensure a good seal and it's mess free and easy to apply.

Yup, thats the stuff. But put your light into the clam then put the lense on it.

Thanks, that's why I left when I did. I also realised that I had a dark visor on my helmet which wasn't much good when the sun went down

OK not much done on the VX over winter but have started to fit harness bar, next job is install cutouts for seats and fit harnesses before next track day at Bedford on the 4th.

 

(any tips on fitting harnesses to seats? And crotch strap?

 

Went to garage today only to find the battery dead so ran a extension cable from the neighbors house to my garage!! (What a great neighbor) Anyway went to open bonnet undid the roof only to snap the roof tensioner!! Balls!!!

 

Now got one on order from Elizp..
