Quick update on weekend so far: Started 10am by making some space and sorting the garage. Not been in there for months and it was a mess. Double benefit of the cleanup was a nicer space to work in, and my long suffering parents think they'll be left with an empty and tidy garage at the end. They've not twigged yet my race car (as and when) will take that spot! Half hour later car is in, engine cover off, up on stands and liner out. Solidly worked (apart from KFC break) until 8pm. The head that came off looks mint apart from the crack (which believe is right down the plug hole on the threaded section itself). New head had lifts and cams installed and was chucked on, chain was a ballache but on too. We decided to not stop until it was significantly together and all sealed up, so inlet and all covers are back on too. This morning we've got all the little bits to finish off like connect back loom, get aux side sorted, and general finish re-assembly. Hopefully only a few hours and we're done. None of us ever want to work on an n/a again, especially not the timing chain. After 8 we popped for a pint, Deano and Lee shot off home and Stuwy and I had a couple more at my request. I'm looking forward to finishing now, and it's reignited my spark in tinkering. That said I seriously ache, almost everything hurts big time, especially my arse from all that bending!

I'll let Stuwy give a full update, but happy to say she's a goodun. We couldn't get hold of a new aux belt, so we can do the tensioner when we sort that. As ever, jobs like this highlight more things that want to be done in the future, but overall the condition of the car is good considering the age.

Deano Lee Alex Started first push of the button can't thank you all enough, all done in a day and half is something epic. amazing guys Rob not forgotten you, thanks for coming down what a weekend, I hope you all managed to salvage the remainder of your Sunday Really got down and just really smashed it, few things that need doing asap, few things as and when don't really know what to say TBH these guys gave up there weekend for me and one of them spent most of the weekend doing what he does in the week! just amazed in true Stuwy style, pics to follow
