that is actually cylinder number 4ok, took it off and as i pulled/wiggled upwards i herd squelching (like Wellingtons in the rain).. put it to one side, looked down each spark plug hole and sparker 1 (closet to the expansion tank is wet and the other 3 are dry.. as no water or liquid is ment to be down any of the holes;
i assume this means that it is an over tightening of plug 1?

before i say who it was i'm going to see how they handle the situation, it could just be a simple mistake from a mechanic and as long as its all fixed ect i wont be posting any details as there manor ect has been good so far.. if tomorrow morning it turns into something else..

Your next step should be to get an 'independant expert' to look at the problem and confirm the head has failed around the spark plug. From that point, establishing the garage's liability should be straightforward.
You need to confirm what has happened in writing to them, stating what you expect from them. If they refuse, then have it done elswhere and claim back the cost.
