So decided to make a start yesterday even though some parts are still outstanding.

Didnt get a great deal done but managed to get the pro-alloy rad fitted ready to run the pipework through the passenger sill.

Few random pics - hardest thing is finding the space to work once the cars in bits! will be asking a friendly neighbour to borrow some garage space before the rear clam comes off!

Last pic shows the cut-outs made in the rad surround for the pre-rad inlet/outlet

while the front clam is off put some mesh over the air inlet gaps on the crash box, it stops angry wasps getting sucked into your car!

So time for another update.

Taken a little longer than planned but i completed the stage 2 conversion on Sunday and was pleasently surprised when the car started with the first press of the button!

Havent driven it yet as i'm just waiting on my new exhaust before re-fitting the rear clam but i did run it up to temp and all seems good so far.

Got a few little items to tidy up and a leaky front rad hose to replace but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to all those who have posted so much excellent info on the forum without which I'd never have got it done!

All fitted and ready to go:

So had the custom made exhaust fitted last weekend and then had to wait most of the week before my first drive due to work and various other things!

Still on the base map so have been taking it easy (ish) but so far its run perfectly with no issues and the extra power and its delivery has transformed the car into something that feels pretty rapid.

Not sure what I expected having never driven a s/c car before starting all this but its fair to say im really pleased with the results and looking forward to getting the final mapping and a full geo set-up done now.

Dont have any more major plans for the car at the moment other than driving it at every opportunity!

Make sure you fit some heatshielding for the offside inboard toelink joint. From the pics it looks like the exhaust is almost sat on it and the heat will dry it out.

Thanks for the warning! - will have a crawl underneath to check out the clearances and see how i can shield it. Had to replace the n/s joint earlier this year due to it drying out so it needs to be sorted.

So finally got some time off work to make the trip to Courtenays yesterday for the final mapping session. Was an early start from MK but well worth the effort. Really happy with the result of 252bhp & 224ft-lbs and also to have the peace of mind that everything is working as it should be (famous last words). Only had one issue as I hadnt covered/wrapped the exhaust manifold which was starting to melt the soundproofing on the outside of the boot, which could have been nasty. Other than that just got to enjoy driving it now & resist the harrop group buy!
