Most of it depends on how far you go with the little things also .......got a feeling MrSimba now has shares in heat reflective / protective products :D As for hardware depending on what your upgrading from plays a massive part tbh DG

I was hoping to be there but with Snetterton and the last two rounds of TA very soon and the championship still undecided the team said no. Plus it is my wedding anniversary weekend and I am doing a Duathlon on Sunday and out for dinner Saturday. I think Mrs C would have had something to say about me going to Combe on Saturday.

Gutted as I would have loved to smash mine around Combe, a circuit I know very well. Last time I drove that I was NA powered.

With DG putting the engine in this weekend I wanted to copy Nev's great idea and instal an inspection hatch and get rid of the black 'carpet' off the engine cabin wall & put some 'proper' heatshielding in instead :)

Started by cutting the hole (JG look away now! ;))

Posted Image

Yep that should do it!!!

Posted Image

Then made a frame so the heatshield could be quickly removed / replaced

Posted Image

Covered it with Nimbus

Posted Image

Remaining area covered in 2000' reflective material :o

Posted Image

And all looks good :)

Have to say Simon has done a fantastic job on this to his true ocd based standards :) Also got a taster for the world of doing things that have not been done before and bit of R&D to find it all takes a LOT longer than you would imagine lol - sure he started at 9am and I dropped him home about 9pm :D Looks even better in the flesh and have no doubts of its heat sheilding properties....some real trick high quality product and going to be a very nice car when finished DG

All the double charge cooling should make you totally track safe I reckon (so long as you maintain decent speed for the ram effect to cool the front radiator).

With the clam off I've made sure that every bit of air entering the 'ear' goes straight through the IC and out again! :)
