Well project taken a little twist... DG's triple checked the wires , connectors, earth, re done most of them and still nothing so it's the ECU that's playing up :( No point really putting an OE back in so this week DG's putting and an Adeptronics 'standalone' fully mappable ECU with cable throttle in to be mapped by Chris @ EFi :) So slight detour from original plan but know the car will be all the better for it so in the long run.... Or that's what I keep telling myself! *anyone want a brand new unused 62mm throttle body!!! ;)

I think moving to a stand alone ECU will be worth it Si and better as a long term solution especially after the way you've been treated. :ninja:

To make that last comment clear, that's the way I've been looked after by a leading 'tuner' not by DG who's been an absolute star!!! thumbsup

Spill the beans

Imagine you bought a kettle and when you got home went to plug it in & found the plug didnt fit into the socket, and when you went back to where you bought it they were not interested and told you to file the plug down to get it to fit...

And that then took you three hours...

Would you think that was ok? Or acceptable?

Or maybe you buy some trousers that are a 32" leg & to get them home & find they are actually 34" and need re-working, again at your time & expense...

And then after what should have been a 2 weekend job turns into a full on 3 week job as almost everything supplied needed addressing & you are absolutly at the 12th hour and miss your appointment & then find the attitude very less than sympathetic...

Not good! Would have hoped they had got these things manufactured to fit by now if turbo related. Stand alone is the way forward for your spec by the looks anyway. Good luck with the mapping.

You forgot to add the kettle was full of crud and of course a £100 penalty for the pleaure of not making it on time to configure it. Or was that another £100 penalty for cancelling the 5 week lead to configure your kettle after booking a few days prior That will be the 12 years loyal service lol DG

I think the deposit lost to cancel the first boil of the kettle in 5 weeks time is perfectly fair, I mean they'll never be able to re-book that slot with 'just' 5 weeks notice will they...

First cancellation is fine as said the second is crap after the money you have spent and 5 weeks notice. You should have sold the slot to another member as there always seems to be someone waiting. The company in question need to be careful not to let customer service slip as things can change quickly. Getting rid of the grumpy arse in reception would be a start!

Question for you... Why can't the Adaptronics run the DBW? The SSC kit for the Toyota Lotus uses a reworked adaptronics and AFAIK has an on-board H-bridge to control the DBW. When you get into standalone ECU's its terrific to have the flexibility of DBW, I for one would not want to go back to a cable throttle.
